According to the story I am now a deeply close and personal friend to wuk lamat to the point where even her brother feels jealous,
Can anyone tell me when exactly this happened? so far I just nodded to everything she said and I guess that's friendship

I thought that the capstone quest with the lazy bum who doesn't want to work was refreshing and neat.
Your post is "eau de retiree."

Vagrant couch-surfers don't conjure up multinational armies that you do pitched, epic! battles on a bridge with. It's a shounen plot on the level of Team Rocket as an antagonist, except it doesn't make sense if you think about it for a second. Even in a full Hildibrand line, a bit more work would be put into making the premise believable.

Is there a way to make the core idea work, of a grifter emotionally manipulating a bunch of people with legitimate grievances against the nation-states they hail from? Absolutely, considering that the game already did it with Ilberd.

Tural is a land where everyone is a friend or soon to be your friend. Everyone's so gosh-darned family, all it takes is a couple tacos and some mezcal to get over a centuries-long blood-fued.

I remember playing ARR and hating ishgard and hoping everyone in it dies, but slowly you meet the good people in it, and through heavensword you learn to get along with them by learning about them little by little and fighting the scum in it, and seeing Ishgard become a better place with your own actions to the point where it's now my most beloved country
I miss good writing.....

Guide us, O mighty Fury
Guide us to victory!

man these dt role quests sure are something...
I will admit it got a few chuckles out of me but what the hell were they thinking?
Take these characters out of here and have hildibrand deal with them they're perfect for him as villains, and you know that you don't have to give a shit about sticking to the worldbuilding
I actually found these to be a bright spot in DTs otherwise muddy bullshit, but I also love slapstick and Hildibrand so they were pandering to me to begin with.

It was the only thing I remember about them.

Also, the Crafter/Gatherer role quests mog the Combat role quests
The writing for the BTN/MIN quest was written by Ishikawa and is considered by many to be one of the few well written parts of DT. Even before people knew she wrote it there was a lot of praise for those quests so it wasn’t just writer worship. The Cornservant quests were written by Banri Oda and the character is based on his wife’s grandmother. There was a really cute interview where he goes into detail about it. He also wrote a picture book of Koana as a child meeting the Cornservant. He was posting pictures of it on his Xitter account.
Speaking of which he, Ishikawa, and Soken have xitter accounts but don’t talk about politics at all or act immature like Kate and Sena do. Oda just posts updates on stuff his kids do and things related to FFXIV and Ishikawa just posts random personal things such as photos and FFXIV related media. Very much night and day in terms of maturity and professionalism.

But fellow FFXIV blasthavers, rubber bullets! Isn't it sooooo progressive?
of course bro, I give a fuck about this women that had half a scene and her stolen bracelet
just amazing writing

Edit: wow the nano second we leave the old west the story gets interesting again, almost like it served no purpose....

That's still the dumbest fucking thing in this entire expac, and I'm including 7.1 MSQ in that. Actually stunlocked me when I heard that for the first time.
Shame we're stuck with Erenville's imposter for that short stint.
It's actually pretty interesting how awful Erenville is during the second half of Dawntrail but no one gives two shits cause of trooncat being a black hole and his fanbase being nothing but horny women (Like G'raha)

ok....they kind of actually made me give a shit about her...
Its insanse just how good the story has gotten like 80% in, it kind of pisses me off, why couldn't this just be the whole story, it's far more interesting

Yeah don't worry bud, game will fix that for you and steer you back to shit here in a moment. We can't have people accidentally enjoying the story.
Such a shame you won't get to experience the original voice lines though.
