So like many other I also returned to the game for the first time since the conclusion of the Zero MSQ. Even changed the voiceover to Japanese to spare me listening to the troon VA. I'm not that far into the MSQ yet, but ignoring Wuk Lamat's unlikeableness the story is just incredibly boring. The interactions and conflicts all feel so juvenile. I'm still going to slowly power through DT and its patches but what a snoozefest...

At least I'm having fun doing roulettes for now, though it feels that even more people ignore mechanics and stand in shit than two years ago.

Trust me, as someone who usually queues as healer for faster roulette queues, the quotient of retards has increased dramatically. I'm starting to hate the Dancing Green fight after having to carry an entire group because none of them could comprehend even the most basic mechs. We're talking near total wipe and having to use healer LB3 at like 45%. And this is on normal.

I only play tank or dps when playing with friends I trust to heal because I do not trust duty finder healers to not be glue connoisseurs, but even then they usually make me heal lol. It's impressive how much worse the playerbase can get. I don't know if I'd say the amount of retards is worse now than it was in late Endwalker, but it's comparable, and that's bad enough.

Witnessed a healer get all pissy because the other one stood on top of him during stack markers. Kept asking mysef If he knew what was going on why not haul ass instead of playing some retarded game of chicken. It was whatever though, those fights go quite fast anyways.

What does rustle my jimmies are frontline players who give the most basic of commands then get pissed when people don't listen: "attack blue" dude the game started not even two minutes ago, who gives a shit who we attack? We gotta get battle high and the second we stop focusing one team the other will pull ahead anyways. Keeping an eye on nodes, pinches? No, just "attack x team plz"

I've never had a problem with healers in dungeons. Even slutmogs who introduce themselves with "hello nya" seem to be able to handle casting Afflatus Solace. Is it just EU privilege?

The worst I can think of was a SCH in Aurum Vale who got kicked by the other two players, both of them Germans with the same weeb surname who didn't speak English, for not healing enough. He said he was new to SCH and was having trouble because he didnt have any instant heals.
I felt bad enough that I even world travelled to track him down after the dungeon and tell him what Lustrate was, to which the retard kept swearing up and down that I was harassing him, he was an experienced healer and I must have outdated info because he had NO INSTANT HEAL at level 49.

Not for the first time playing this game, I find myself thinking the Germans were onto something.

My experience with Germans in the game is very different. My worst encounter was a couple in alliance roulette who kept doing softcore erp in party chat and when I asked them to knock it off (because I unfortunately speak the language) they whined that I was harassing them and tried to get me kicked (it didn't go through. Now I'm wary whenever I have more than one German in a group. I'll take a "salut" instead every day.

Yeah, I dont mean to imply that German speaking players are any less degenerate, there's a lot of Weimar freaks out there.

I never really had issues with French even when I played on Chaos. The most french thing Ive ever seen in the game: last year while progging M3S, I hopped over since it was midday and by coincidence there was an M3S party while Light had none. While waiting for one of the other healers to come back, 4 of the 6 remaining party members left for smoke breaks. Prog wasnt too bad, though.

You guys must be lucky when it comes to the French. Germans mostly in my duties go "hallo" followed by "German?" and then awkwardly shut up if nobody speaks up.

The French though, where do I start...

- going in with literal crafter gear into a lvl 50 dungeon as Reaper lvl 70. That means the retard has opened his starter gear chest to get the weapon, but then either instantly glammed the armor or put it away/ threw it away.

- WHM who did not do a single job quest after getting the job stone. Lvl 51 dungeon, no medica 2, no Benediction, no regen

- tank that single pulled, ahhhh but I hear you saying "that's not too bad." , but when I say single pull I mean literally only using his single target combo against 1 mob of the pack. The two MCHs stopped AOEing after the third pack, thankfully.

- tank who got lost in a hallway dungeon and ran all the way back to the beginning, because he did not speak English and could not understand our guidance attempts

- healer who never DPSed, he needed to save his MP, you see. Cure 1 spam, no further comment

- tank who kept rotating Titan in Titam Hard, RIP those poor Dragoons that got hit by the cleave tank buster

As someone who basically only runs tanks in roulettes the issues become less of a problem at higher levels because tanks have so much self sustain that they can plaster over a moron healer.

At lower levels when you don't have those tools, it becomes messier and things like Physick/Cure Bots are noticeable and a problem.

still going through dt
so the two headed chud can just release a massive monster and no one gives a shit?
Pretty much, Taco stepper releases Mexican Trogdor and after you defeat it, pretty much everyone must get hit on the head with a large rock because it's immediately dropped and almost never brought up again.

Fair point, I haven't touched Levelling as a tank since DT released. I kind of hate tanking in dungeons so I only bother if it's at least current expansion content where the mechanics are mostly guaranteed to function and if I play Levelling its as healer/DPS. I'd still say that I don't encounter complete shitters that regularly enough to impact my enjoyment of the game.

I play on NA, but I've heard a lot of horror stories about the French. I've also heard they're shit players.

Shit, I do that for fun sometimes. But I only do it right at the end of the fight, or to cleave my friends I queued with.

For fuck sake now i have to PLAY AS wuk lamat ???
and she gets powered up out of no where??
Here's a cool idea, have a scene where we train her or something, maybe we teach her the limit break that lets her win
You know, let us have a real connection????
No. Trooncat is awesome and great and wonderful and you aren't the main character, heh.

Why should there be anything approximating a character arc or struggle? Wuk Lamat is just so awesome that it is inconceivable that anyone could dislike the character as written and everyone should be hype af to see Wuk Lamat bulldoze over everything with zero issues.

Any of that boring characterization/character development shit has no role in Final Fantasy XIV, and the only reason you're even saying this is because you're a heckin' transphobe.

There. That should more or less encapsulate the last 2 years or so of complete nonsense discourse every sane person has had to endure regarding Wuk Lamat.
