Hat tip to @Frosted Snowflakes from the XIV Community Thread

This stupid bitch/faggot/fagitch. Should take the hint that SE gave him when they wrote Wuk out of the story and just shut the fuck up. Especially since his 'clever theorycrafting' is the same shit everyone else figured out already.

Hell I'm dumb as fuck and I even I worked that shit out.

I say without a hint of irony, he should of been the one in Wuk Lumats role and won Dawnservant, since he's the only character to have had a development arc.
Blessed be because at least he's the one who is most free to join into post-Dawntrail content.

I fully expect he'll be the main face of that area moving forward (the same way you see Lucia from Ishgard more frequently) for anything that happens in the future.

God I hope next time we get an 'everyone shows up to help' montage Wuk Lamat is unvoiced. It'd be so funny.
"Wuk couldn't make it, but, she said good luck!"

He isn't even correct in the sense that Odin has been barely mentioned. They factor in ARR, much like the other default summons (Ifrit/Ramuh/Leviathan/etc.) and then the story re: the cursed sword crops up again in Baldesion Arsenal.

I'd argue out of all the Primals in ARR he is the most interesting/fleshed out.

Especially if Trooncat is the only character who is unvoiced.

What's crazy to me whenever I queue into frontline roulette is how many faggots take this shit seriously and whine in chat about not winning and then you, the guy who's just here for exp, is the one capturing all the points and eeking out the win.

Like there's not a significant difference between winning and losing in terms of rewards, calm the fuck down

It kinda sucks if you are trying to grind the achievements given how fucking many wins you need, but there is a big overlap between people who whine and people who don't contribute jack shit to actually winning :story:

I can understand that, but I figured that the community a long time ago collectively realized that frontline is just RNG. The teams are random, the point spawns are random, and the vindictiveness of third place is random.

Just assume you have a 1/3 win chance and calculate your achievement grinds around that. Getting mad in chat while you chase the dark knight across the map instead of capturing points is just retarded.

It's more frustration at people who do nothing. I was in a match where there was a guy with 8 deaths and like 65K in damage dealt.

If you're actually doing shit, that's fine. But the number of people who run around 'capturing points' and doing nothing (not saying that this is you) can get grating, especially if you were fucking around like that in any other game mode, everyone would be shitting their pants over you.

There are some folks who are dedicated FL players and sometimes they get a bit salty, but I find it's just general grumbling than anyone having a crash out. Maybe it's different on other DCs?

Honestly, I sympathize with anyone trying to grind for that /fa/ Seal Rock coat these days. PvP was better when it was 8v8v8 and you could actually coordinate with other people sporting half a braincell to secure a win. Now you just follow the zerg and pray to God your teammates can actually press their buttons and aren’t pussies when it’s time to push an objective.

Also pray that your opponents aren't outright cheating.

What do you mean by this?
I assume talking about the prevalence of PvP addons. Like when CC started, and people were doing stuff based on criteria like:
  • Instantly marking the SAM in the 'do not touch me' skill with the 🚫 marker
  • Instant WHM polymorph/sheeping as soon as you hit LB, even if they did not have you targeted
  • Automatically using NIN LB on enemies below 50% HP for the instant kill + LB refill
But I do not think these plugins were used much in FL as they were in CC based on how things worked there, but I do know there was a 'coordination' plugin or something that would cause all players using it and synced with each other to just dump their LB on the current target. You can achieve the same level of coordination in a voice call and have a macro to mark your current target though so fuck knows really.

Decided to set three goals I want to complete before EC, so I can experience some of the current content before all the job changes/evolution potentially makes things easier. Will probably let my sub lapse til next year after I do these because, frankly, I'm just super bored with the dailies and PVP.

- Pilgrim's Traverse isn't super hard, but friends and I are having fun with it. I'd like to complete floor 100 so I can get the cool looking weapon. Maybe if my party of friends aren't complete pussies I can talk them into doing the harder version of the fight after.

- I want to finish all the Dawntrail extremes I haven't run yet. I dont really care about the wing mounts, but since this is the first expansion I've been around for end game during it would be a nice feeling to be caught up before the next expansion.

- I've only done the first few savages for DT. I definitely want to experience the rest before evolution changes everything. I am not an exceptional raider when it comes to savage tier content, but I'd like to think I am not as braindead as other tanks I have seen so it shouldn't be too out of the question.

I want to be optimistic about the job changes. They could be a breath of fresh air for the game, sure, but the more I think about what we've seen and the fact the game is going to Switch now, I just cant help but thinking this is going to be a massive watering down of what little complexity remains.

I'm gonna enjoy the content from DT and probably wait to see how EC pans out before paying for it. I just don't think I can give Square Enix any good faith on it after how bungled things have been.

I miss the days of 8 man doomstacking in frontlines and coordinating a giant nuke in a group of all white mages or black mages.

The polymorph thing makes sense, I guess, but when I play WHM I tend to have potential threats already targeted for a Poly.

I've seen some blatant teleport/movement hacks, but a lot of what people attribute as being cheats/hacks are just people in comms or whatever taking advantage of people who have room temperature IQs.

I've been feeling that same dread. Like yeah we get a better representation of Job identity but will the obvious consolefication of the controls that Evolved Mode is using (which is because of the Switch no matter how much they try to say otherwise) make everything feel more braindead to compensate.

A happy medium would be to have an option to mix both modes, modify which inputs to simplify and such, i think that would be awesome. You would still have a mode to pick but having a 3rd option thats a mix would be greatly welcome.

There's also just out-and-out speedhacks, flyhacks, and invuln hacks going around.

This game's been consoleified from the beginning. Something like 30-40% of the total playerbase is on console and in Japan that's like 60%.

Personally I play on controller and the changes don't really look that significant for controller-friendliness. I already don't have trouble pressing all the buttons I need and the only thing that this really alters is that I don't have to double tap my triggers for long cooldowns as often.
