Nah, I have to disagree. I thought he was complete ass after the whole ordeal of trooncat getting kidnapped. Because after that event, his entire character became centered around her and only her. He gets reduced to being some weirdo who has questionable feelings for his adopted sibling, having a meltdown every time she's even slightly in danger, and giving up his whole run for the throne just for her. This dude is obsessed with her and his only purpose is to serve as her perpetual servant, doing all the diplomatic work while she goes out to have her little tism adventures because she's too retarded to use her head. My dislike with him was completely cemented after his weird, sudden attachment to literal cattle where he let's a fucking t-rex pimp slap him to protect a single fucking cow. Any interesting qualities he had at the start are completely swept under the rug so that he can exist solely to supplant Wuk Lmao and nothing else. Any time he appears on screen I roll my eyes and just mash through his dialogue because I already know he's going to spend 5 text boxes talking about the non blood related sister he totally doesn't have feelings for or anything.
Zoraal Ja is probably the worst villain they've ever come up with and he's beat only by Endless Sphene. His entire character arc is him throwing a massive tantrum because daddy didn't love him hard enough and we watch him go through every single mental gymnastics imaginable to rationalize and justify his psychotic and sociopath behavior. Despite how obvious it was that he was a fucking monster through and through, it takes him systematically killing thousands upon thousands and murdering their dad for trooncat to finally get it through her retarded head that he needs to be put down like a fucking rabid dog. Even on his deathbed, he never stopped whining about how daddy didn't give him everything and how unfair it was that his dad loved all his children equally instead of just him. He was just a spoiled brat projecting his father complex onto everyone around him. That's all he was. All he'll ever be.

well, never forget, Fandaniel was played as a sort of Kefka like fool character on introduction and initial character meeting with WoL, but he was a fucking faker, and was in fact the most core villain in the 10 year arc and both his Ancient self, and his current self both were incredibly dangerous in terms of planning, motives, and execution, and we would go to have more boss encounters with him in different forms than any other in 14. I dunno how they can salvage Calyx and one of like 2 or so Convocation members left, but they could.

I think that happening is because Koana and every other person was written into being part of the rolling simp blob around the time they got to the Mamool Ja. He gave up the throne on the spot, his task done and brain turned firmly off. Since then he's only been there to affirm and ass-pat his fucktard of a sister like so many other characters.
I was under the impression that it was less that he (Hermes the ancient, not Fandaniel the ascian or Amon) didn't have hope for mankind and just wanted them gone altogether but that he was just really disillusioned with mankind and wanted them to prove that they should have the right to exist. After he erased his own memories, he was just as heartbroken and distraught about the final days as everyone else and actually worked really hard against it when it finally happened. He even went out of his way to make the playing field as fair as possible by attempting to erase everyone's memories along with his. In fact I'd go as far as to say that if we and Venat hadn't escaped the mind wipe, the universe would be cooked most likely.
