Add to that living on an Island the size of California with high speed rail connecting everywhere to everything, along with schizos who can find idols trying to idle by looking at the reflections in their eyes, and perverts who try to snap unsolicited pictures of females so much they had to make laws with camera having to make sound when used and segregating male and female train passengers, and all of a sudden, stalking is a very big threat.

I think it also boils down to Penumbra and Glamourer are purely client side adjustments on your end, whereas Mare could adjust other peoples clients, which makes it ripe for potential exploits.

It's also something that Square in general has had to deal with -- they updated their policies about a year ago now (IIRC) and Yoshi P made a statement asking players to PLEASE leave the dev team and SE staff alone. A lot of people thought that at the time it was relating to troon voice actor Sena Bryer who was receiving "death threats" over a shitty performance in the latest expansion (context for any thread tourists popping in), but it turns out there's some schizo was taking the Final Fantasy 7 Remaster very seriously and had shown up at the Square offices. I believe someone on the Dragon Quest team also had a similar experience.

Hum not wrong about problem I seen them internally fight trying drag cummity in few times as well I seen those matter as well.mggal pon warn making trouble begin with lore counteract gone after some talent to replace them as well lore lady sprerg over it she keep attacking them. How miss kitty taked in. Other one gone after so kin as well. To witch piss me off bit if known what had happin. Pink hair having awnser to Ozu and other inviter right now on her actions.

I think Yoshi-P directly stated that not to harass her... with of course leaving out the fact that she was instigating and tossing bait out for negative people to bite on being completely ignored. Also for the record she did do a shit performance, to the point where they had to re-record a lot of her lines in 7.1 (the infamous SPHEEEEEEEEEEEEN that, to this day, people still shit on when they get the trial in roulette.)

I feel like some people still have a misconception of how Mare functioned.

Normally, to see another player's character in all its gooner-modded glory, you need to sync up with them by giving them your personal Mare code and receiving theirs. They scam you and only receive your code without giving one back? Nothing happens since you did not sync with theirs. If you are also not completely retarded you can set a maximum file size that Mare is gonna download, so you could prevent zipbombs that way.

Now, since people are generally retarded, you could also create and join something called a Syncshell (haha, get it, it's like a linkshell but for syncing with Mare). Everyone inside a Syncshell will automatically share codes so to speak and download character data from everyone in there as soon as you get into the same map or instance. Just so you get an idea of the file sizes for mod beasts, they usually start around 400-500 mb if they are well compressed, but easily go up to 1.2 or more gb. And that's the file size without any additional animations or VFX.

This is always what got me, my mods were at most 40mb and I had a bunch of animation and skill reworks and a few higher res textures for muscles and stuff, then I see some stuff on like ff14mods where it's a slutwear bikini thats 80mb on its own

somehow.

I once achieved a file size of almost 300 mb because whoever made a dancer-looking outfit went into autistic detail with some decorative gems. Also, Mare lets you compress the textures which greatly reduces the file size as well, but in my experience, most people don't bother doing it.
 
I have never used mare, it always seemed like such a security risk to let other people send files to my system. Honestly, the most modding I do is autistically removing every single piece of modern slop the game introduces and replace it with some already existing gear that looks the part. Whenever it is patch day and Dalamud is not working I am gobsmacked how many people wear that fucking Fallguys hoodie or now these retarded t-shirts.

Mr. President..? Yeah, we found him. The only guy in the entire fucking game that hasn't used mods to transform into a 8 meter tall demon werewolf vampire goblin cat rabbit wolf man with ZZZZ titties and a downs-syndrome face with 400 piercings and tattoos all over his body, wearing a bikini or the crustiest fucking wife beater + jeans combo with giant angel or demon wings... We're just about to bring him in for study.
 
I wrote a very simple animation mod last December to make the Summoner's Carbuncle do a number of cute idle animations both because it just twitching all the time is boring and because I wanted to see if I actually could.


Sit down, roll over, yawn, stretch etc. You know- Cutesy normie shit. Nothing all that special. Nothing that should have drawn degenerate attention. I thought it turned out pretty good so I decided I wanted to upload it somewhere in case anyone else wanted the option to use it.


It was live on Nexus for all of two days before someone messaged me asking if I would do NSFW animations. Yes, involving the Carbuncle. I took down the mod and swore to never touch mods again.



Total Modder Death. Fuckers don't deserve nice things, they will pervert anything they touch. I hope SE goes full exterminatus on their disgusting little communities. Leave my cute animal companion alone you bastards.
