Not really either? The earlier ARR dungeons now features unnamed adventurers for trusts, and I believe that's the case for most dungeons where the scions were not nominally involved in. I don't see why they needed the scions involved at all, except for memberberries purposes.
All of ARR, The Aetherochemical Research Facility, and Baelsar's Wall all have 0 scion involvement.

The 3-NPC dungeons in DT feel like asspulls. Especially Alexandria. That would have been the perfect opportunity for, oh i don't know, three denizens of Living Memory to go help you take down the final lock so that they can return to the lifestream already.

And where the fuck is Graha for the first 5 levels of Dawntrail? Isn't he supposed to be still fangirling over us after we saved him from soul rot in 5.3? How come he gets to gorge himself on Big Fat Tacos and get a real vacation with Estinien instead of going on a journey with us like he said he wanted to?

Just the thought of this happening makes me want to fedpost.

Alright, maintenance time. Let's see how many irregular tomestones I can farm up this event.

I can see them having WL becoming like an Envoy and visiting the other countries while having the WoL as her bodyguard or some shit. Maybe she decides to go on a globetrotting adventure to get to know the other countries and requests the WoL to join her since hes been in those places before.
>Wuk Lamat visits Ishgard
"Wow, this place is kind of dreary, huh? I can't believe the people of the Brume live under such conditions. This may not be my home, but as a ruler, by my honour of Dawnservant I'll work to build a better Ishgard where all people can live in peace and happiness"
"I may not have known Haurchefant but I can feel the love he had for his friends... I know he would want to build an Ishgard where people of any culture or tribe could smile"
(Smile starts playing while the camera is still fixed on Haurchefant's grave)
>The corrupt Orthodox priests bow their heads in shame

"How dare you take advantage of the poor and preach your religion of hatred. Papa taught me that a ruler is supposed to ensure their people's happiness by tearing down the borders that divide people, so that everyone can understand eachother and grow as a community!"
>The noble houses of Ishgard are immediately abolished
>Aymeric claps

"Here, as my new friends let me teach you all about the greatest export from my country... tacos!"

>The unseasoned wypipo diet of the Ishgardians is replaced as taco stands open all over Coerthas
>The winter clouds give way to a sunny climate as Hraesvelgr descends from the sky to join the new diverse Ishgard
>The Horde and Ishgardians all dance in the streets together as the Church legalises gay interspecies marriage
>JUST IMAGINE WHAT'S AROUND THE BEEEEEND

The main thing is that even though the most-interesting twist of ARR's finale was reversed, there's still an element of consequence to it: one scion is dead, one can't use aetherytes, and one is blind-sortof.
The worst part about Y'shtola's blindness is that it barely has any drawbacks to her and is an upgrade:
1) This somehow inexplicably granted her the ability to see aether via asspull, making her a walking Aetherometer and ensuring we almost never see any scions with these bad boys strapped to their arms anymore.
2) Matoya warned Y'shtola during HW that aethervision is slowly killing her, Y'shtola went "yeah I know idc" and it became an abandoned plot thread.
3) Very rarely has her aethervision been a hindrance to any sighted task, even as obvious as picking out letters on a sign or a book. The handwave is that arcanist books use aetherically-tuned ink but that's only the case for arcanist books because they are special geometries for manipulating aether. There's zero reason for an academic tome or a merchant's advertisement to be written in expensively produced and specially-attuned ink.

I hope no one outside of the writing team ever forgets that this is the case.

You see, as demonstrated in Shadowbringers, Y'shtola's blindness only exists when it needs to exist for the sake of narrative convenience in some fashion. In that case, specifically reminding everybody that HEY, SHE'S FUCKING BLIND, SO THAT'S WHY SHE ASKS URIANGER TO EXPLAIN WHAT THE NIGHT SKY LOOKS LIKE TO HER. ISN'T THIS A GREAT CHARACTER MOMENT?

I feel odd being critical of that bit of Shadowbringers since I still loved its story overall, but it's true.

The whole “aethervision is totally going to kill Y’shtola” part is a mistranslation in the English version of the script, the Japanese script doesn’t mention death at all.

these bad boys
Ooh, downloading that. Thanks.

The other time that I can remember is when she physically could not see the Blasphemies in Endwalker due to their aether being eldritch. Didn't prevent her from seeing Meteion, a creature defined as an Entelechy (made of PURE DYNAMIS) though.

also the night sky bit isn't explicitly because she's blind, she can't see the stars because of what effectively amounts to light pollution preventing her from seeing the aetheric signatures of the stars in the sky

Please elaborate, I would like to know more.
