Reached level 80 culinarian, completed the cristalline questline and now i have the sharlayan school one questsline. So far its been fun and just cooking for big xp is satisfying. Although i saw there are master recipes, do i need those?

It's just depressing to me that the game has so many strengths still going for it, excellent visual design, a smooth new player experience in the MSQ, tons of FF lore to draw from for new storylines, lots of old content that's still maintained and relevant, a guaranteed income stream from ERPers and glam buyers, weak competition from other MMOs; but seems to be on an inevitable path to stagnation where only the most minimal effort is put in to shake up the story or game design. They hyped the shit out of that graphics update and it was passable at best.

Even if they kick Hiroi out, stuff Wuk Lamat into a plastic bag and drown her in the river, how bad do things have to get before someone wakes up, realises people won't keep paying for Shadowbringers 4.0 and Square finally reinvests into the game that's keeping them competitive?

Raid food is locked behind the master recipe books. I'd recommend getting XI and XII if you can.

Especially since 7.2 is a raid patch, so we're gonna have new raid food and you can either make your own raid food and hopefully spend less, or if you don't raid, just sell it and you could probably make a bit of extra gil on the side.

Food prices don't stay ridiculously high for too long though since you don't need to use em nearly as much as potions.

It was Orange cat.
Not that character of Wuk Lamat themselves, some of them pre-DT were even excited for them.
The problem is it was Wuk Lamats Expansion.
Wuk Lamats Quest.

They liked the idea of having a more chill and side adventure xpac but it wasn't THEIR adventure. They sat on the sidelines and watched Wuk Lamat.
They all gave up because they were 100% uninterested with the story and didn't have the willpower in them to force themselves through nearly 100 "talk to wuk lamat" quests. The furthest any of them got was just coming into Solution 9 before she gave up because "We've done this world overcome with a single element shit before, twice"
The worst part is that every time someone voices their frustration over Wuk overtaking the plot and the player character being sidelined the community will dogpile them with counter arguments like “this was supposed to be Wuk’s story! You’re role was to be her mentor! The plot doesn‘t have to revolve around you all the time! You’re just mad you’re not the main character and the narrative isn’t jerking you off!”

You know what I’d rather have the narrative jerk me off and treat me as the most special person in the world than be sidelined in the story by the most insufferable characters to exist in this game. At least the writing was still good when they did that.

The GCBTW is at it again

The review score also flipped from being 24% positive in the last 30 days to 37% after this tweet, so they obvious brigaded it with positive reviews to spite the "haters"
Turns out this tranny is an ERPIng /xivg/ resident lmfao.

Dawntrail stan is a xivg tranny.png

E: Whoever suggested killing off Krile is the most Krile thing they could do to her, lmao.

Which misses the point of the criticism towards Trooncat, if we're assuming they are arguing in good faith.

But they aren't. Since XIV reddit is generally so over the top sensitive with moderation, they can't out and out accuse someone of transphobia because that's 'toxic behavior.'

So they dance around it and try and bait people into saying haram things. It's all so tiresome.

The issue isn't that the story isn't about the WoL. The story has drifted away from the WoL before with the WoL just being a vehicle for dismantling the current monster of the week, it's the the story is poorly told, the characters have the depth of a puddle in Death Valley, and one character dominates the narrative so much over all the other characters.

This isn't a case of 'transphobia' (although yes, there are people who do hate WL/Dawntrail based off of that, but Grummz doesn't actually play the games he whines about, so...), it's just a simple case of bad narrative combined with overexposure and is one that has happened before. (See also: Jesus, Green in World of Warcraft's Cataclysm.)

You know what I’d rather have the narrative jerk me off and treat me as the most special person in the world than be sidelined in the story by the most insufferable characters to exist in this game. At least the writing was still good when they did that.

What's so disappointing is that there were so many ways they could have explored and exposed us to Tural in exciting and engaging ways that still accomplishes the goal of putting Wuk Lamat in the spotlight and doing the whole rite of succession thing. And there's infinitely more ways to explore the world. I don't give a shit if I'm the Chosen One or whatever, although I do have one conspiracy theory going that I hope doesn't come to life (basically, Wuk is also a piece/shard/whatever of Azem the Wanderer) but that's more just not wanting anything to do with Wuk anymore than anything else.

I know I'm going around in circles with this shit, but it's just so annoying that people can't have an honest acknowledgement of Dawntrail's shortcomings.

You know what would've been a great alternative to tardwrangling Wuk and claiming it as "you are now mentor"? Role quests where you're training up-and-coming adventurers that've come to Tuliyollal from all over Tural. Have the reward/optional quest if you do all of them be they form a party together and either adventure through Tural with what you've taught them, or decide on traveling to Eorzea and you recommend their starting city. There you go, a mentorship role that has a decent chance of being interesting and says more about Tural than they had any interest in saying.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if someone already suggested this in the thread and I missed it in the shuffle of "this expac sucks eggs", CBU3 could've done interesting shit in several places, but they avoided anything interesting like the plague and now a lot of people can't even be assed to log in anymore. The Cornservant stuff is the closest DT got to an interesting or even just fun questline besides Arcadion.

This literally shouldn't physically be possible anyway. Beings only have one shard per reflection, the only way that this could be the case is if Wuk is from one of the other Reflections other than the First (Ardbert) and Thirteenth ("Golbez"), which does not seem likely.

Figures.

Makes me wonder just how much /xivg/ has integrated itself into the community at large by now considering how widespread their brand of degeneracy is.
You'd be suprised how many /xivg/ avatarfags have their own Xitter accounts (where they roleplay as their FF14 toon and make lewds of them)

I don't mind being a mentor to someone.
Just make them likable for Christ's sake.
:stress:
You're not a mentor.

My biggest criticism with the story is that the dev team tried to tell you "yeah you're a mentor to an up and coming adventurer" while also making it so Wuk Lamat takes the lead at all times. The only time when Wuk Lamat is wrong and gets herself kidnapped, they decided to make the rest of the group into snivelling retards who couldn't see how Bakool Ja Ja would probably try something underhanded too.

If you were a mentor, you'd have scenes where you perhaps guide an uncertain Wuk Lamat, offer advice, maybe Wuk Lamat ignores that advice and learns from the results of it. Maybe you'd even have a solo instance of a 1v1 against her.

What you are in Dawntrail isn't a mentor, you're hired muscle. You serve no purpose past fighting for Wuk Lamat.

The Wuk v Bakool Ja Ja could have been cool if it were better. By then we could have taught her enough that it'd be a cool "Goku throwing Cell a senzu bean because he knows his son is going to kick his ass" sort of deal.

The funny thing is that the WOL has canonically been shown to be a mentor to a fair few other NPCs, though the biggest one you probably remember is Alphinaud himself. It's practically a mini-arc through HW that you help Alphinaud regain his confidence, correct his missteps. More importantly, Alphinaud, being a white male, is allowed to be wrong, sometimes catastrophically. (Other NPCs you might remember is various rolequest NPCs like the red mage one, Arenvald himself, and even Alisaie.)

You can't really mentor someone who never made mistakes, or is shown to be never wrong.

Someone should document who's a /xivg/ avatarfag roleplaying on Xitter so I can laugh at them. I want to know who's who here.

Dear FF14 Fags, I come from the Magic thread to inform you that spoilers for The Final Fantasy Universes Beyond set started today.

Have your Cat Girl Tranny Waifu in cardform.

Wrong cat. I have no fucking clue if this is actually a decent card or not.
I know, Y'shota was actually the only thing in A Realm Reborn that I did not fucking despise by the end, but I am not a fan of 14 so while i was here I wanted to tweak your noses a bit.

It is a perfectly serviceable card, I just wanted to spread the word to Ya'll that you might be able to buy your favorite character if they get a card.
