That's true, but it's not like a make it a habit to take gil from people even if it's a small pittance for them. There's a large chance that I'll just end up giving it back once I lose the lotto.
You'll save tons of gil if you have gatherer jobs maxed. Makes your life a whole lot easier. The only caveat is that some mats have spawn times you have to wait for but other than that, you can virtually gather everything you need without having to spend a dime.
Doing roulettes as in demand roles will net you a hefty sum of gil as well.

Bros I've been playing in Crystal DC since stormblood cause that's where all my friends were. They never did any of the rp stuff and I think we were just there by chance.
If I had to switch out to a different data center which one should I go to? Also would it really effect my experience or is it minor.

Both of these, 100%. I've been slowly but surely building up on gil this way.
Also, if you weren't planning on upgrading your Manderville weapon(s) (or you've upgraded them already by now), at least on some servers, you can make a cool half a mil buying and selling Astronomy mats. Trick is to cross reference which mat is selling the highest on the Market Board at that given time (universalis can help for this), and it's also sometimes worth just buying the "best" selling mat in bulk and then sitting on it for a bit if the market starts dipping on it from motherfuckers who hate making money attempting to crash the price — it'll eventually even out back to normal once they get done with their retardation because the tomestone mats will always be in demand due to current recipes.
Poetics can also net a decent 30k or so (or maybe more depending on your server) by exchanging them for Grade 3 soil. Again, it's best to cross-reference universalis for this to figure out whether Thanalan or Shroud topsoil is selling higher. In my case, people have seemed to be willing to pay more for Shroud topsoil for the last month or two now.

Looks like the prices for astro mats have shot up almost tenfold at my server since the patch.

If you want to make a quick buck, you can sell the new mats required for the crafter relics on the market board which use white scrips to purchase. You need 20 for the first step and 30 for the second step, assuming the people who are crafting the turn-ins make a high enough quality where you get 3 per turn-in. Some people will spend the gil to save time since the first crafter/gatherer relic is free through the quest but after that, requires 1.5k white scrips to purchase the tool.

As the title says, with patch 6.35 we received some new housing items! One of them being... the lalafell lifter. We have been begging for lalafell furniture for the longest time, especially after visiting Tomra and seeing all of the lalafellin sized furniture. We haven't had an official lalafell...forum.square-enix.com
I can't imagine why anyone would compare them to children, gais.

Talking about the "backlash" with a couple of friends and it's kind of dawned on me how true it is that Lalafell players are, by and large, the biggest whiners in the whole playerbase and have the largest persecution complex.
Just thinking about how that one shitter is bitching that Miqo'te, Au'ra, and Viera players would complain if they had furniture stereotyping them and it seems like the common response is "Actually, we'd love to have things like cat trees and heat lamps."

It's not worth swapping because the autism of the community is universal and inescapable, you can still do stuff with your friends but it's hard to keep up with them because you will have to manually update their online status if you want to talk to them. If you do switch though go to Dynamis. I have been on crystal since before HW and if you ignore retards they don't touch you usually.

Yeah, I was gonna say. Lalas are described to be childlike right from the character selection screen if people paid attention. All of their emotes were made to be childlike and there are several pot shots in dialogue and tool tips that poke fun at how childish they look.
Not saying that it isn't possible for a Lala to not act like a kid, but the game heavily railroads people into that thought process. It's hard to take player Lalas seriously too since the vast majority of them are just memelords or cringe tryhards or they play Lala but they think "haha tiny so funny". It's a race largely treated as a joke where the only semblance of dignity they get is the Lalas from the MSQ that don't behave like children.
The angry minority are overreacting imo. You might as well own the pot shots at your race and if you play the obligatory tiny person race in an mmo, expect people to crack jokes about you looking like a toddler.

Viera's entire existence is owed to them bitching. Yoshi-P is on record saying he didn't want them, both because that would necessitate a gender lock (he didn't count on the troons whining, I'll get to that), and because he didn't want his game to just be good because of the ones that came before (I know, but less 'there's massive shout outs' and more 'I CAN PLAY A VIERA, SO GAME GUD'). But people bitched long enough, especially when the Heavensward concept art dropped, he finally relents, and puts them in (In the laziest way possible, which is yet more proof these people don't really care.) And what does he get? Called a transphobe. Just one instance of many, to the point REDDIT started calling them out for it. But, they won't have hats, because of their ears. Nevermind Hrothgar don't either, who are hilariously quiet and just happy we get a non 'human but...' race, it's an attack on THEM. So, devs bust their ass and (allegedly) dip into their 2 hours a year of free time to make sure they get SOME. And all they get is bitched at that it's not enough. Mind, I agree on this.

I always found it weird that the game itself pretty much flip flops on this all the time because apart from this you also have the canon playboy bunny suit lalas and the occasional male lala npcs who make it clear how much of a boner they have for tall women.
