Lol this was me when Palace of the Dead came out. It's ok, you'll learn.

I dont recall there ever being an explanation for the Proto Ultima in the Mhach alliance raids or an explanation for Nero's device responding in that chasm at the foot of the tower. We know the voice was Hermes' Sad Space Bird, but it's weird it made the noise when tossed into the chasm. Also the Allagan spaceship on the Moon, though I wonder if the Namingway beastman quests will resolve that.
Isn't same in potd except challenge floors are 101-200. I haven't found anything that would suggest there's additional lore at those floors. HoH didn't have anything past 30.

New furniture dropped, and some Lalafell players are in shambles.

Forgot to add this earlier, but little do they know this exists.

Watching lalafell meltdown over a fucking chair taking a swipe at them has been the highlight of this patch. Its pretty much made anyone who is jerking it to spuds instantly cry foul. They just can't stop outing themselves.

Meanwhile in JP, they more or less think we're retarded for having a meltdown over a chair.

One of the comments (Google translated) stood out to me:
As expected of the home of LGBTQ, there is a sharpness to the maddening quirks.
:story:

I think the high chair is fuckin funny and would keep one in the corner of my house in case a lala visits, but I find it funny the only people actually mad are the ones that post lewd lala gposes under the "we're just shortstacks bro" pretense

Am I the only one who didn't think that chair looked like a high chair at all? I don't see a problem here.

SE has been taking swipes at Lala players since the dawn of ARR. There are so many tooltips talking about Lalas getting punted or eaten but a chair is what sets them over? Seethe more. I want to fill my mug with the tears of fragile lala players. At least they can wear hats and they don't have emotes that give them an extra set of pointed ears.

It's almost like these people never read The Island of Doctor Moroe; or took a lesson about what happens when you start making demi-humans. They're not just people with animal characteristics, there's a chance you'll get certain things from the non-human side carried over. Sandboxes, scratch trees, heating lamps, etc isn't that far fetched as unless you spend thousands of life-times with selective breeding to breed out the traits you don't want; you're gonna get cat-boys and girls with more cat characteristics and behaviors, on top of all the other hybrids out there. All those retard "My cat runs my life" types who think it's funny or cute how their cat gets in their way, walks across their keyboard, and other annoying shit; yeah, that can carry over and the only difference is they're now they're of equal size. You're not gonna get that cat off your lap because you let it rule your life, you're gonna let it sit there because you physically can't lift it.

It doesn't help when the player base makes references to Lalas being potatos... and potato being a euphemism for retarded/slow/mentally impaired/etc.

Depends on what you like; everything is tied into and unlocked via story (MSQ) quests; so if you see something and want to know when to get it, it's probably something you've yet to do/unlock. Especially classes that were part of an expansion, you have to go through all the storylines to unlock said class. There's some bad decisions made back in vanilla that they couldn't rework for a better quality of life (your banks slots are literally npcs you buy); but overall, it's a solid MMO. Best advice I could give is be calm, the playerbase is quick to offend and call the GMs to throw you in meany jail.

Bold of you to assume those kinds of players even play the game.

wtf happend to her, she looks like a bootleg raggedy ann doll
If I had to guess; aging, stress, and burn-out. You can't escape aging, but throw in the other two and shit gets bad. Doesn't help that red isn't a good color for her.

  • As another user mentioned, Make an account and play the free trial. If you like the game, make another account. Why? Because that second account has permanent free trial access. The free trial account can be useful to login when you want to update the game for new content but are not actively subscribed.
  • Use two-factor authentication. You get a free quick travel point and higher account security. Use a free and open source authenticator like Aegis Authenticator. Do not use Google, Authy, or Microsoft authenticator, which lack important features like encrypted backups and app security.
  • Do not purchase the game on console. You are required to pay an additional online subscription to get online access on your console (like it wasnt enough you are already paying for Internet access to begin with). If PSN servers are down, you cannot access Final Fantasy XIV. Console is eventually phased out (unsupported) as time goes on and technology increases.
  • Do not purchase the game on Steam. Often, Steam users get late access to expansion preorders and updates. Steam being down for maintenance can affect your ability to access Final Fantasy XIV. Additionally, buying from Steam prevents you from purchasing the game's expansions from other avenues, such as sales on Amazon, Square Enix store, and other videogame retailers. As a consumer, you should always prioritize flexibility. Some people like how you can buy your game subscription using Steam, though.
  • You can play single player for majority of the game main story, always take advantage of those opportunities. Most players are retarded, lazy, and have zero issue with causing you to lose your hard-worked account with a frivolous GM report. Keep interaction with them at a minimum. Players are not your friends, they are obstacles to your personal progress in the game.
  • Do not choose Crystal Data Center if North American.
  • Exploring Eorzea is a thrilling experience. During your time here you will be able to talk, join, and adventure with many other individuals in an experience that is unique to online games. That being said, we have no desire to see your real life suffer as a consequence. Don't forget your family, your friends, your school, or your work.

I think she's coming to the realization that slowly she's hitting the wall and her looks she used as a selling point is starting to decline. She's trying to make herself look younger... the problem is she's throwing on clothing and hair styles that you would put on toddlers or five year olds, not women hitting their mid 30s.

It's very enjoyable especially if you are a fan of Final Fantasy. The two pieces of advice for maximum enjoyability:

1. Pretend it's a single player game and there is no "ffxiv community".
2. Don't be tempted to do every quest when you get to a new area. These are mostly "I need help killing 3 monsters." type quests that will dole out a bit of lore and a small reward but very rarely do they lead to anything important. You can check a guide if you want to make sure you don't miss anything. The good quests are Main Story Quests, which have a meteor marker and the Content Unlock Quests, which are blue and have a plus sign.

Thank you Strauss blurred.PNG

He's a long time friend of mine and actually super fucking rich lmao, he's got like over 600 million gil and says he has so much because he never spends it. So he just casually offered and gave me the gil.

See? Some people can be nice. Of course if I end up losing, I'll just give him all the gil back anyway.

If they added some carrot bowl accessory with the line "Share some with your favourite Viera" I'd just get a laugh out it. As a matter of fact during the bestway burrows segment in the MSQ I'd been waiting the whole time for some throwaway line directed at me about looking like a big Loporrit but it never came.

At least I did get my laugh during the newest custom delivery questline, though.

To be fair, 21 mil's a small drop in the bucket when you've got 600 mil.
