Oh sweet delicious Ultimate raid drama. Never heard of Rin or Dice before in my life but seeing this shitshow discussed in the thread made my day.

As for the JoCat shit: Similarly never saw this dude's content before and after checking this video and that 'I like girls I'm a mega-coomer' song out, glad I didn't. Just another influencer trying to profit off a stunt and his 'I will donate for each wipe' claim sounds like a nice way of saying 'I can take my sweet ass time clearing this fight and not feel encouraged to do better in a reasonable timeframe. Oh silly me and my disposable income amirite?'

He'll regret this decision whether he knows it or doesn't. Pity... His Crap Guides series is one of many reasons I eventually picked up XIV.

I've got into this game due to a former e-acquaintance I've known for about 8 years ago having played this game for some time telling me about it and I simply wanted to give another MMO a try after I p[ayed WoW for a bit at my bro's house long ago and got confused by the many prompts on-screen, and this time actually tough it out and asked around how to do things. It's been over 4 years at this point since I cut ties with said acquaintance and moved to a native EU server where I could actually do mechanics in fights correctly. I can sympathize with the depressing loss of respect for people who got you into a game in the first place, but that's life sometimes I guess.

Even if he's got some sense I still find the whole thing a massive waste of cash, though. I took a look at the gendered intelligence website and it's literally just there to spread tranny propaganda. Go do a charity drive for a pediatric cancer foundation or something.

Had a gut hunch it was something superficially shallow like that. Thanks for saving me the effort of clicking on it.

What I also find typical is how this is yet another Trans activism-based donation drive done through a vidya game like GDQ has been reduced to doing. I'd at least have some slight respect if he was doing a IRL sprinting marathon or doing some other Jackass-esque stunt in exchange for trying to pander and gain more notoriety for influencer means, but doing hard content in vidya games as the incentive is one of the lamest and safest stunts imaginable.

What I also find just raising red flags is that donation incentive goalpost shit:

- Further advertise his DnD guide shit.
- Have an excuse to show off dresses and display his crossdressing fetish.
- And the cherry on top for this supposed issue that has to be taken seriously to the public, has a drawn nudes calendar of presumably his uwuu femboi avatar to pander/sell to his audience.

My FC is pretty chill, and just recently had someone join who was very clearly using a voice changer. Like, super high pitched UwU voice.

Everyone called them out for lying about being an actual woman straight away, I mean freaking everyone, called them out. They bailed from the discord and left the FC immedietly. Pretty proud of my fc mates standing up that bs.

On a different topic though, I've finally decided to take a break from DPS and Tank roles and giving Healer a shot. I've never ever healed before. White Mage was so fucking boring, so now I've gone Sage.

So, Healer bro's: Any tips for a first time Healer diving head first into Sage?

Sage needs to use their off gcd heals a lot, calling it "advanced" might be a stretch, but you can't really spam your gcd heals on Sage and keep up with mass pulling tanks unless they're Warrior or they know what they are doing. This is why Sage got a bad rap when it first came out as many people trying it were used to cure 2 spamming and failed.

Your 3 little nodes called Addersgal are super important to accomplish this as those are exclusively used for off gcd heals and they spit out mana. Make sure you keep Eukrasia in a good spot as you need to quickly use that and your GCD heal of choice to get your shields up, it feels weird at first but if you are good with hotkey management it becomes very reflexive.

For your first levels this is the rough hierarchy of good vs bad addersgal stuff for spam healing the tank: Taurochole > Druochole > Kerachole (This becomes second best at level 78 when it gets a regen component).

The aoe one Ixochole is very good, but Kerachole is kind of weak and you should only use it if you absolutely need the help. 10% aoe mitigation is frankly just really weak in terms of how much it actually helps you not heal unless you're desperate vs it costing you a cast of your aoe heal or your.

Remember to always shield the tank when literally nothing is happening such as between pulls, Sage can cast shields while moving so you have pretty much no excuse to not pre-shield the tank. If you're brave you can spam your aoe damage skill by staying right beside the tank (Icarus to follow them helps) and just spamming your aoe, but shielding the tank as they run is fine if you're scared. With Kardia heal this actually helps you out as the enemies die faster if you spam your aoe instead, just make sure you're slightly ahead of the middle of the enemy pack to ensure you hit as many as possible due to how fickle the delay can be while running.

Damage wise:

Addersting is only used for movement or for a minor aoe improvement, it is not a bossing tool typically for damage unless you really need to double weave off gcds for some reason. Phelgma although is a bossing tool, and a movement tool because it keeps your gcd spinning with you instant casting it. It is melee so Sages tend to just park their ass next to the boss to ensure they can get Phelgma off whenever they need it. You shouldn't use it literally on CD as you want to use it for movement when possible, but this isn't a huge deal and is a very minor boost to damage.

Otherwise just keep dot up and shot your laser filler when nothing is going on. If you're a caster dps player you might know how to slide cast a little, use it as much as you need to as it'll keep your GCD rolling if you aren't good at this then feel free to just use a Eukrasia heal to be doing something unless literally no one is taking damage.

Genuinely don't be afraid of trying to do dps, if you fail and your tank shits on you, fuck them you're learning and its early content no one should give a shit. It is better to try and fail then not try at all

Why should anyone ever be scared to get up in the action and mix things up? That's practically where most of your healing's gonna come from in the first place, and, IME, most of the times it's more than enough without extra shielding so long as the tank is cycling their cooldowns as they should.

Alrighty I'll be giving a solid try.

It's alot to take in at once, certainly gonna need some time to adjust and get used to the Job, but I'll try keep this stuff in mind.

Many thanks!
If you're going into hard content then a significant amount of time as a healer during prog is going to be figuring out your cooldown timeline for the fight anyway. Before going into an extreme or savage fight for the first time, I'd recommend watching a sage PoV from the fight and seeing how the person in the video does it.

I don't understsnd why people put things into jars. I asked on Q&A and they said it's a My Little Pony meme where they fill the jars with semen, but this twitter user is a female (she sells her homemade doujin in-person). The jar has a light on it. Also I think the statue must be some kinda late print so it looks weird.

I main Sage as healer and I will say that Sage can really shine if your tank knows what they are doing.
If they do, you probably won't ever have to touch your OGCDs and you can keep them healed from dpsing alone. In direct contrast though, if you get a tank that likes to mass pull and not touch their mitigations at all or if they are just generally squishy, you're in for a rough time, doubly so if they're so bad you have to blow through all your resources just to get them through 1 mass pull.

I also main Sage as a healer and any halfway decent Tank makes it to where I can just turn my brain off and hit one button for 90% of a run, and those are the times where I love playing a Sage.

However, leveling roulette usually makes it to where I have to try twice as hard to keep people up and I absolutely love blowing all of my resources only for the Tank to let themselves die anyway. Bonus points if it's a Paladin and I never once see them pop them Hallowed Ground.

Like, shit. Back when I was actually playing Paladin for a bit, Hallowed Ground was my go-to CD for a mass pull because, at least for a short while, I can afford the healer some DPS uptime and not have to worry about me for 10 seconds. I don't know what these retards are thinking, too scared to use their panic button when they absolutely need to use it.

White Mage is for the healers who don't care if the tank knows what they're doing or not. Aoe stun the enemies, thrown down triple regen, and release the deeps.

I used to be able to not care about tank skill as a scholar, but square enix went and handicapped scholar with each main patch for being too powerful, I guess. Imagine still having haste, esunaga, dot spread, letting the fairy tank, having both you and the fairy cast spells at the same time, and 25% guaranteed HP Lustrates. Nah got to go, goyim. Too powerful. (yet it's ok for white mage to have 100% instant hp every 180 seconds??) Fuck square enix, fuck yoshida, and fuck the people who thought the arcanist jobs were too difficult pre-5.0.

Roulettes make me wonder if White Mages remember they have deeps, because 7 times out of 10, I just don't see the fuckers ever using their fucking AoE. They'll just sit back and healbot. Maybe OCCASIONALLY remember they can Holy spam, but then they just as quickly forget about it on the next trash pull.

Or, one of my other absolute favorites, the mouthbreathers who Holy spam on bosses. Because your best AoE tool definitely works as intended when you spam it on a single target boss, you fucking dent-head.

White mage is incredibly satisfying because of that.

It's such a good feeling when you just have a toss a few regens, use presence of mind and thin air, and just watch enormous packs of mobs just disintegrate in seconds from a holy spam in addition to Holy III being one of the most visually pleasing spells to look at.

While I don’t deny that the ffxiv community is trigger happy, I don’t think they’d be that crazy to hold Shenpai accountable for this. The deleted user saying nigger is an implication that the user was banned and the Jew jokes (I recently joined her discord under a burner no fucking glowing from me this time) have been aggressively warned and actioned. Unfortunately she has a decent defense for this and I can’t really pin her for this either. Not saying this to her benefit, but it would be a useless cause to pursue.

Some healers are fucking whiny piss baby bitches and think every mob in this game can just cleave you for half your hp so newer healers tend to hide away from mobs by standing on the other end of the room unless they're forced to do otherwise. I try to tell people not to do that immediately when people ask me for healing advice, because it is kind of unintuitive to imagine a healer being in melee range of enemies, and fewer actually try to run right next to the tank because they're scared of...something, I think.

I've played this game for too many years and watching healers be practically scared of their own shadows is just weird to me, so I try to tell new healers to not do that and encourage them to not do that without being some pushy asshole.

Meanwhile in Frontline PVP they throw themselves into danger and wonder why they keep dying. "I cant believe everyone just abandoned me!" while there are multiple calls in chat to move in another direction and not to overextend.

@The Zekenator already gave a good rundown of Sage, but here's two other tips I can give just in case for general healer stuff:

- If you or your teammates get debuffs, always look for if the debuff has a white horizontal line above them on the party list on the HUD. If they do, it means you can remove it with Esuna. Especially important with doom debuff on certain bosses
1678014880183.png

- Always keep Lucid Dreaming up for gradual MP regen for when you commit to a large window of both chipping in with damage and constant healing, or for casual usage, as a MP regain emergency for when you just died and got rezzed.

Healer can be pressuring because of responsibility to prevent people dying and also chipping in you own damage, but you'll get used to it and just ignore elitist tank fucks who blindly accept every healer in casual content knows what they're doing and wall pulls ahead constantly without waiting for the healer to catch up or give a break.

Someone dies, the red mage is a retard, the summoner forgot he has more use, one healer who fluent in Arrow Speak is doing nothing but spamming Aero/Stone, the other healer is hardcasting Raise on the dead guy, the Paladin is lamenting, and 2 min. has passed since pull and it's 90% and you wonder why you ended up in P8 again.
