Found an ad for a nice and chill server that is definitely full of real women

Yeah I've seen this ad a bunch of times too. I don't quite remember but I might've brought it up myself in this thread before and someone mentioned they used to have a voice test upon entering the server but then they stopped doing it cause they were accused of transphobia. I've also seen someone in The balance bring it up who linked this twitter thread talking about more drama.

I found this gem and thought you guys might like to see what unique ways the modding community of this fucking game can cause your eyeballs to melt in their sockets.

Yeah the modding community is abysmal in this game and I'm glad I removed the chatbox from my game altogether except for my FCs chat. There is much worse stuff that you can run into, such as this RP session that makes teenagers look like professional RPers:

So I got back into savage raiding this tier since last time I did it it was around the Sigmascape/2nd tier cycle during the Stormblood expansion and ever since clearing P8S at long last since early December mainly through PF groups, I'm being reminded of why I personally stopped raiding in the first place, that being that besides having an job with infrequent workshift hours plus home commitments that I can't really look for a static that suits me and spend 3 hours in 3 days or something among those lines, I'm also wondering if there's any real 'step ahead' benefit to this that I'd like to ask and if someone could answer for me:

Eventually savage raids become outdated and the weekly chest drop limit removed that the only real reward purpose people go for is for glam gear or the mount drops usually, and I want to ask if getting BiS gear when the savage raid is relevant helps you for the next tier in that you can start raiding in the next tier comfortably without having to sink money into crafted/pentamelded catch up gear, or will the crafted gear be just as good? I guess if it's the latter it's just bragging rights to be BiS-geared for the current patch?

I did actually enjoy getting the P8S clear and I like the weekly challenge of trying to reclear these fights so far for good gear for other jobs/the eventual mount drop, but I'm not sure if I want to actually keep this up because high-end savage raiding still comes with a lot of salt and timewasting whenever you restart due to a likely fuckup causing the whole party to wipe and people blaming each other/ragequitting that I can't help but wonder if there's any real benefit to committing to this long-term as opposed to just spending my time doing other more casual content in this game and only bothering to do these savage fights when they're no longer relevant for the mount farm purposes.

And I've had thoughts about maybe giving an Ultimate raid progging a shot but don't feel exactly motivated if from what I gather the only reward you get from these fights is a fancy title/a currency totem to buy the weapon of choice from a vendor.

TL;DR: Casual guy with not a lot of free time to dedicate to a static wonders if there's a reward-point to savage/ultimates besides challenge.

As a fellow casual? There isn't. By design, raiding is its own thing, and players can ignore it without affecting other parts of the game.

There's only three reasons why you'd want to raid:
a) the challenge and achievements
b) the glamours (weapons, armour pieces. Some look pretty sick, so I understand why people chase them)
b) ii) rare mounts/pet
c) hidden lore/cameo scenes (all savage/ultimate have this afaik)

Didn't one of the last MSQ of Stormblood require you to kill Shinryu?

Not that I'm aware. I known people who only did the Four Lords after they finished up Shadowbringers. You might be thinking of Hell's Kier, which is a mandatory dungeon post patch.

No, went looking and is The Royal Menagerie. MSQ, defeat Shinryu.

Okay now I'm confused. (I admit, I was thinking of Seiryu, which IS optional, btw). What does Shinryu got to do with my point that (savage) raids are optional? Shinryu is just an end of xpac trial ala Ultima/Thordan/Hades/Endsinger. They're not considered raids though.

That was the story mode version of the trial. The Extreme mode was optional content.

All trials have both normal and Extreme modes.

Ignore the fact that ARR had 3 separate modes early on. That was a design decision that stopped being used for every trial introduced AFTER the original three Primals (Ifrit, Titan, and Garuda).

You don't have to ask because it's not my screenshot. I use zero mods in this game and only use plug-ins through xivlauncher for quality of life. The amount of coomer shit that gets advertised is obnoxious and I wish they were would make their would make a PF tab for "RP" so we don't have to see that shit, and if someone were to advertise outside of it, it would be reportable. Lately I've been seeing these fucks have 3 or 4 PF of the SAME advertisement that talks about gift card giveaways and shitty DJ twitch streams.

I have probably been desensitized to degenerate FFXIV coomer shit, but while the proportions are complete dogshit, there is MUCH worse out there. I still remember some of the first mods I saw on here included diapers, Lalafells with big asses + tits and bara Hrothgars with giant barbed cat penises. Now that is nightmare fuel, imo.

My humour is terrible and I am amused way too easily, which is why I find the can of Mt Dew funny.

Some time ago someone in this thread posted a bestiality mod involving one of the Kamuy mounts and I'd say that's the number one worst mod I've seen personally.

Eeeeh.... Degeneracy aside the next pvp season reward is a paladin looking armor set and the airship mount they showed is a gold saucer mount so fuck me I just spent a million of chuck e cheese tokens on the cloud card. Have a nice day!
