It's the principle. Nobody is jacking off to 2D sprites or jaggy PS1 models, but it doesn't mean it's okay to censor shit unnecessarily.
>sweating bulletsI am calling bullshit on this. We all know someone has.
>look at my side of Dead or Alive 2 dakimakura
Oh wait, I masturbated to PS2 models, phew, I'm not one of those weirdos.... haha.....
anyway, on the topic of censorship, particularly Final Fantasy. I don't like it. specially with the Final Fantasy 7 Remake. In the original 7, Midgar was gritty dark gloomy and dystopian slums. everyone looks like a hoodrat. Tifa basically wears the most revealing outfit possible to get patrons in the bar, everyone died in sector plate crashing, Don Corneo is a pimp looking to fuck some hoes.
I dunno if the Remake is to be considered a censorship, but what that game is like filtering the bad parts of the original FF7 and make it palatable to the modern sensibilities. Honey Bee Inn is no longer a whorehouse but a gay fucking circus, there's no more moral ambiguity for Avalanche, the people evacuated before the plate crashed. etc, etc etc.
I cant say its censoring FF7, since the original game still exist, but what the remake is doing is erasing the themes, message of the original and making it more purile/sterile and making the game lose its identity and what made the original great despite its flaws.
I think a huge part of the sexiness purge in particular of Japanese games is due to CERO. CERO has become more strict over the years, where panty shots and kinda ecchi games can still get CERO B in the past, now gets CERO C
