It's the best or second best game in the series, depending on how reverent you are towards 2. It's also almost certainly the last game the series is gonna get, if rumors about bamco's general disinterest are to be believed.

Kazuya is just way better as a protagonist-turned-villain. Jin is just a hollow straight protagonist that dindu nuffin. Hell, I know it won't happen but I'd be much happier if Jin died in Tekken 8. He wouldn't be as much of a loss to the series as losing Kazuya will be.

Sadly I can't, because every time I hear that song I hear one of the Top 10 Worst of DSP's (to be fair, it's the 2017 video, probably the best year for DSP drama).

I like the Kazuya "I'll get it all back" moment in Tekken 4's opening; but Tekken 5 for me,
 
I also think T5's intro is the best.
On the topic of Tekken, did you guys see the new Kazuya trailer?
I was pretty happy with the new soundtrack and the announcer is growing on me a bit more.

Also seems like they really liked how Geese played in Tekken 7 cause the heat system is spreading his mechanics over everyone on the roster. Which I think is great but Im biased, Geese's cheesy 80% combos and special-cancel pretzel-motion garbage activates all my FGC neurons.

Also, am I retarded, or does this shit really cost over $160 for the whole weekend? According to the signups it's 85 for Friday and Saturday, then you have to pay another 85 for Sunday. That's fucking robbery.

That's how it's been since... 2015 I think it was. When they started having Sunday Finals in the Arena part of Mandalay Bay and not the normal venue ballroom. I know guys who don't pay for the Sunday ticket and go hang out and watch what game they like on Twitch. Hell, there's always a number of dudes who treat it as an excuse to hang out and just play videogames in the hotel rooms more than anything else. If you're really invested in a game, you might luck out and get a game with low number of entries and so it'll have its finals on Saturday, making a Sunday ticket not necessary.
 
Is it me or has Tekken's story and characters been on a massive decline since Tekken 4, which was the last Tekken with a good story overall, IMO? Also, not surprised to see that woke POS Skullgirls being left out of the lineup since registrations for that game was absurdly low anyways.

Nah I have no interest in that tranny fest. I only have any interest in EVO is that my wife wants to go to Vegas for some stupid fucking reason. I want nothing to do with that hell hole, but if I was forced to go I'd at least have the excuse to go 0-2.
 
Probably going to make an earnest effort to main Kazuya this time in Tekken 8. Previously I just really enjoyed playing Dragunov instead, but it wouldn't be right not to play him if they aim to kill him off.

SF6, I'm just waiting for the first season when Akuma will get released, but until then Ryu, Ken and Jamie all look fun.

Juggles are the bread and butter of Mishimas. Unless they bring back Kazumi (I wish) you're only choice for a Mishima is Kazuya. It's unlikely they'll kill Dragunov, for secondary characters they usually just find replacements, see Katarina-Christie.

All the new characters they've shown for Street Fighter 6 are awful. The only one that's passable is the giant wrestler chick. You could do a new Street Fighter consisting of almost entirely previously used characters, have 2-3 new ones, and everyone would have been fine with that.
 
Lily appears to be a Not-T.-Hawk. Same double sweep, multi-hit Condor Dive analogues and a couple of similar normals. Not sure if this is good if her size is smaller but her reach is the same.

Kind of disappointing she doesn't have a different, unique moveset, but oh well.

For anyone that used to follow the early youtube rant community. Lily is being voice by a former youtuber, Lillylivers. Used to make video with randomdce, bigal2k6, hellsing920 and a couple other people. Ironically she doing alot better in life then rest of the old rant community.

Without much knowledge on the matter, it sounds like Kazuya's trailer shows he has some moves from Heihachi, and this one shows that Jin inherited some Devil Jin moves. Still going to main Kazuya at this point though.

Related to other FG news, with how much excitement seems to be behind SF6 and Tekken 8, I feel like that Project L game and Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising might be dead on arrival. They may still find a niche sure, but I don't think they'll have enough competitive traction to last.
 
I need to ask to be enlightened and/or corrected because I feel I'm going crazy.

When Skullgirls debuted a dozen years ago, I swear I remember talk on there being a 'canon' Story Mode. It was, well, what actually happens as the actual plot of Skullgirls instead of arcade ladder-style 'what ifs' for each indivdual character. Most importantly, I remember the creators said it was unavailable for now till they got all the plot-relevant characters playable - Umbrella, Squigly, and Black Dahlia.

Now did I just dream up the idea that the OG Skullgirls crew had a Canon/True Story planned, did I misremember in the first place one ever existed, or has it become a 1984-style retcon "there was never one planned" when there totally was one in development at one point?
