Recently, the original Japanese series that Power Rangers was based on, Super Sentai, announced that it was doing its last season. I wasn't allowed to watch Power Rangers as a kid, but it's sad to see the original show Haim Saban basically ripped off come to a close after a half century. Not really my kind of show, but being able to endure for that long is absolutely legendary.

Chris probably got into it in his adolescence though, so he can't really use the excuse of "I grew up with it" when others moved on already.

The movie in the 2010s flopped and I don't see Disney having a stake in it being much help. But at least now we'll get to see if a Megazord can take on the Galactic Empire or the Marvel Universe, with how much they've been absorbing franchises (and ruining them).

That reminds me of the arrest video, where he just couldn't help himself in the squad car. Even the most dedicated cop hater would have sympathy for that officer, for having to be a captive audience to the Dimensional Merge lore.

We all cope in some way or another, but Chris's delusions are something special. I'm surprised he hasn't tried to start a cult in the boonies or something with it.

To be fair, I'm sure that the cop in that car had to deal with a lot worse from cuffed criminals in the backseat. Some fatass retard blabering about cartoons using Rick and Morty logic to prophecies doomsday probably was a welcome reprieve in comparison to death threats and likely the occasional neo nazi rant.

As for the cult thing, Chris definitely would start a cult if he had an ounce of charisma, likely ending up the same way as Heaven's Gate, only being based more on cartoons from the past 40 years instead of Star Trek. But there very much would be Kool-Aid drinking in the end, as that's really where I see Chris going once he finally gets desperate enough to escape the hard truth of his existence.

I have another theory. Back in 2003, Buena Vista (who owned the franchise at the time) put out a DVD called "The Best of the Power Rangers: The Ultimate Rangers" with a bunch of episodes from the franchise's first ten years. Its the sort of thing you'll see in a $5 bargain bin, so its possible Chris picked it up.

Notably, the DVD has two episodes on that link into the Harmonycon fiasco:
- White Light: Has Tommy Oliver becoming the White Ranger.
- Countdown to Destruction: Season finale to Power Rangers In Space where Andros destroys Zordon's energy tube, saving the Universe. Basically the subject of Chris' song "Revive Zordon". Also features Astronema, who Chris ripped off to create Silvana Rosechu with.

Look into the lore of Star vs the forces of evil and Daron Nefcy. Its literally her version of CWCville and Daron is what chris couldve been if he had actually put in effort but was still, you know, himself. Every character in the show is someone from her real life and she has admitted that the show is what her highschool life wouldve been like if she had magic powers. She had her own dimensional merge too, she believed one day her cat would speak to her and give her magic powers.

Maybe that influenced "Honor Roll" to being attached to Spanish in an odd way? Anyway, what is it with that "special" freak being fixated on obscure "bargain bin" cartoons anyway?

That just goes back to our earlier conversation, Chris in the deepest parts of his fucked up mind KNOWS all of this is bullshit. He knows his actions do have consequences that will follow him for years to come, but he is too stuck in his ideals, his mentality, his very ego to ever admit it. Its something we've known since he was first discovered, he simply believes he is above all of us and deserves only the true and honest things in life, everything else is an illusion or a ploy by some evil higher power. Because of that he goes through life with that faux blissful ignorance he's had since Bob was still around, but I think thats what makes it so weirdly sinister for lack of a better word. He still hides his face, his body, his voice, because he knows what he's done and he knows no one wants him around, its like a little kid putting on dads suit to get into the rated R movie.

That much has been known for a very long time. As mentioned, he believes he deserves it all and anyone who doesnt share in that belief is evil and deserves to be tossed into the fire. Weirdly enough he isn't an outlier, I have met many autistic people like Chris who have a strangely over inflated sense of superiority and narcissism, because as children they were coddled to and given everything that it completely destroyed their later views in life.

"Buena Vista Entertainment" was the name that Disney used in the 80s and 90s for anything they shoved out the door that wasn't a pet project of the then-CEO Michael Eisner.

As for Chris, Spanish is taught as a second language in most schools in America. There's a huge amount of information his attachment to it (including his "spanish name": Ricardio) on the CWCki if you're interested.

Back when Chris was non-verbal as a child, his parents likely brought him cheap VHS tapes to watch alongside leaving him in front of the TV for hours. Back when physical media was commonplace, there was usually a discount Video (later DVD) rack near the checkouts in grocery stores.

I've only ever seen one of these discount Disney knockoffs and that was the knockoff Aladdin one with the red genie.

I can't imagine how much money my parents spent getting Lion King, Black beauty, so on and so forth.

Lots of Disney sequels too.

Of course they put everything on VHS back then including regular TV so Chris would have had endless things to watch.

None of this was uncommon in the '80s and '90s two generations of adults thinking that kids were going to have their brains rot from too much TV.

They were right of course but Chris is an extreme example.

MeTV wasn't around when Chris was a kid. I imagine some local unaffiliated stations might have had classic shows. Syndicated rerums were big back in the pre-streaming days.

As for if the Chandlers had cable, they may have had the basic package with Nickelodeon and Nick at Nite.
