I think I will never ever play this game because of how it devolves into trial and error but also because of the weird sex and rape stuff. However, I've watched hours upon hours of fear&hunger lore videos, I think the lore is super interesting and cool. If you're looking for a youtube channel that does lore videos I recommend this channel, he's not pozzed as far as I can tell from a surface level viewing. He just did a new short video that gives a quick rundown of the general lore in anticipation of the termina update.

To be fair you have to really mess up in this game to encounter some weird rape-shit in Termina, or just play like an idiot after provoking the Poe. Termina has far less of them along with being as disturbing and unlike the first game that was riddled with a lot more trial and error punishments that were overboard. Even then when you can get good after some time it becomes easy to never walk into those traps again.

Also, Mythonics? I guess he changed his channel name more recently, he use to be MautheDoog and was one of those earlier channels that got popular because of his series of lore videos regarding over-arching world building Lores of F&H along with Project Moon. His stuff was always alright, much better than a lot of the others. I really can't stand a lot of Youtubers who make video essays on Souls-likes games.

Eh, Termina shits the bed as far as the lore concerns. A brand new old god suspiciously absent from the first game. Yeah, yeah Vinushka is somehow dead yet with no mention of him and you actually do end up killing the God of the Depths. But everything in the dungeon is as twisted as it is because of his influence. Rher is mentioned, obscure, and lacks a hexen because there is no way in hell he'd ever help you.

Instead of answering any questions or expanding on an aspect of the first game, you just get more. Yet Termina lacks any of the first game's positive attributes when not downplayed. No oppressive atmosphere, no feeling of something completely out of your understanding beneath it all, dogshit enemy variety, and a plot that is completely disjointed.

Le'garde's actions brought everyone together in the first game. Hell, there's some innate cosmic fuckery from the get go the essayists like to point out with him making all of the playable characters act on the inverse of their nature: D'arce is submissive to him, Ragnvaldr wants to torment him, Cahara goes into a prison for him, and Enki choosing to go after him out of sheer ego and spite is debatably an extreme act of ignorance. Before the second game, there were four major souls and the inclusion of more was obviously a mistake. Nosramus points out Le'garde embodied all four seeking something greater, and is one of the hints towards the Girl's true nature. Whether it was the girl or him, something in the grand scheme of things would change.

Instead absolutely nothing changed. Also, Jesus has an evil twin or is his own evil twin because All-Mer and Sulfur are both dicks. Why did you find him in Mahabre? Uh, don't think about it. Le'garde is a generic new god or some blood golem pretending to be a new god but it really doesn't matter when you can easily bitch make them as some absolute rando, the four original soul types being generic zodiac signs of all fucking things. And the girl just exists, I guess. She lets you save. That's nice.

Oh, oh, but this time a totally new and original Ascended God called Logic™ will change things for real! Instead of replacing the Depths, we'll be replacing Vinushka! Totally all human. Totally going to change things. All you needed was some magitech.

God, what a mess.

If I remember correctly the YouTuber lore video. The implication is that All-Mer died on the cross and then Lucifer did a switch-a-roo post revival while trapping him to go insane in hell, explaining why All-Mer becomes militant. It's subversive but kinda metal.

Le'Garde is the result of the crusader chick ending and is some vampire shit.

All PCs distinctly recognize All-Mer from sheer presence alone in the past. His future skeleton, not so much. Black Kalev is really Judas and goes by the real life The Gospel of Judas that insisted he was Jesus' closest disciple. O'saa recognizes Sulfur and All-Mer as distinct entities but is confused by the feeling of All-Mer's godly presence in Termina and recognizes the church's worship as something else.

It's vague because he has the weird ass asterisk and snake his real ascended self has. New Gods can use Blood Magic too, explaining his flesh melting away somewhere else like the troon's father does when he dies. After everything, he seems like such a footnote.
