There's been some salt over the game having anticheat on in singleplayer so you have to look up how to turn it off. Or use real money to buy in game cash.

Watched some streamer play it and, in a shocking turn of events, it's a total copypaste job, same enemies (down to the flamethrower enemy still being a bullet sponge despite not wearing any armor like in the other ones), same trippy drug crap, same outposts. Not sure if the map is the same like it was in 4 and primal tho.

that's their modus operandi.
They just recycle stuff from other games, over and over. Didnt primal have a similar map to 4 ? seems like it.

looks like the namedropping in 5 does not end with Obama

The cutscenes makes for a neat little movie, but that's all. Watch it on YouTube and then forget it.

Why are the vehicle controls such hot garbage in this game? Everything from an ATV to a crop duster handles with the speed and grace of a retarded glacier.

Never played any of the far cry games before, because I've never been a fan of fps (it took me YEARS to finally suck it up and play fallout 3) and so far I'm really enjoying it.

there is a mission where you have to retrieve what is heavily implied to be the pee tape for the CIA

Same here, never played any FPS game until Far Cry 3, which is why I am excited for this, unfortunately, my RAM died on me and I have to go buy new sticks . *sigh*

I'm enjoying this game quite a bit. It's me and some rednecks and preppers against some creepy cult family from Commiefornia and their retarded gun toters.

Also, the Senator candidate is a fucking hoot when you find his recordings as he's giving promises out to folks.

Campaign promises include:

Banning the immigration of Canadians

Deporting said Canadians to California.

Banning all French lessons to make Canadians learn english.

Building a 700ft high ice wall on Montana's northern border and then moving it slowly 6 inches per year in order to annex canada.

Got the game and aside from a few cheap deaths, it's a much better experience than 3 & 4. The game does make use of a silent protagonist similar to 2 but the customization is very limited, mostly on clothes. And for a game where you're more or less in a redneck county, you don't have the option of getting facial hair sadly. So much for my deputy having a beard.

Edit: Forgot to mention that once you reach certain points in the regions from doing story missions to sideline activities like destroying cult convoys and rescuing prisoners, the game railroads you into getting captured through enemy parties, forcing you to listen to the ramblings of the Seed family. If there is one legit grievance I have with the game, it's forcing you to hear their crap and then not letting you have the option to just shoot them after you beat them in their respective boss fight. Honestly don't care about hearing some villain rant on how I'm not a hero when I already heard it a thousand times, just let me shoot him with an arrow during a cutscene.

Being dragged away by the Seed family after every third mission got old really fast. Also I just hid from the capture party once, and they still got me even though they never shot me.
The seeds are a very forgiving bunch. Always wanting to give you a shot at redemption no matter how many siblings you kill.

It's the usual boss battle feeling but reversed. Every boss usually goes down or gets confronted after three, right?

It is a little boring though, I agree. But has been done to try and mix up the Far Cry format a tiny bit. Prior to this you just had to keep hammering away at the lieutenants areas until it was time, which meant they had all the motivation and character building of a puddle on a hot day.

The every 3 missions to get kidnapped thing makes way more sense against Faith as she could come for you at any time thanks to the Bliss and sent animals and herself to you in avatar form, showing she could take you any time you want but simply chooses not to.

I certainly like the personalities of the various people, both allies and enemies. Seems way more thought out and slightly deeper than previous games. They've really hit it out of the park this time around with it.

I think Joseph Seed is going down as one of my favourites of the series though.

But then with Vivendi breathing down your neck trying to oust the family in charge, you need to.

I'm also liking the look of the DLC's that are on offer. Each seems to look like it's going to be Blood Dragon style in scale.

The Living Dead DLC is clearly going to take place on the same map, so will likely be out sooner rather than later. I've not seen much in the way of press for them but here's my speculation:

First one, Living Dead DLC - The Collapse actually happens, and the Cult become the good guys. I'd like to see this happen as there's a surprising amount of sympathy for the Seeds even if they are batshit.

Vietnam - It's 'Nam, what do you expect? Likely accessed via the Nam vet you can find near to Fall's End.

Mars - Parker comes back and demands your help fighting aliens on Mars.

Far cry 5s ending was shite. If you haven't reached the end yet then all I will say is don't expect something good lol.

The fact The Father was right is just retarded. It makes the entire adventure pointless, kills all the characters that you like, and makes your character a piece of shit for killing people that were actually right, even if they were insane.

It was lazily written IMO, it has as much sense as a GM going "rocks fall, everyone dies" Just replace rocks with nukes.

And I thought far cry 4s "pull the trigger and win" ending was bad.

That along with hearing them ramble about the weak or that you should say yes also gets tiresome.

The fact The Father was right is just exceptional. It makes the entire adventure pointless, kills all the characters that you like, and makes your character a piece of shit for killing people that were actually right, even if they were insane.

Just to say:
I honestly wish the game would just let you whip out your gun and blow Joseph's brains out after you beaten him. They could say you and your buddies are just hallucinating since Not-Korresh pushed the barrels of Bliss and you were pretty much exposed to a shit ton of it thanks to Faith whenever she captured you. Even then, they could keep the nukes all they want, I simply just wanted to pull the trigger and be done with it at least. Even if they say Seed had good intentions and was right, it honestly makes it hard for me to see him as right when his message was "convert or die". Seriously, I'd prefer it if the whole ordeal you went through at least had some backfiring on Seed. If Jacob's attempt at dehumanzing you, John trying to get you to "confess", and Faith drugging you from Hell to highwater with Bliss literally done something downright bad on the deputy, it should at least also be something bite Joseph Seed in the ass as he tries to make you a part of his family in the bunker.
Either ending doesn't really make much sense since with one of them, I start my game up again and I'm on the tower near Dutch's bunker at night time, all while the pause menu screen is different and Seed has a red x like his siblings.
