It's like AssCreed Odyssey, they will say that the story was written with the female version in mind but they will find out later that 99% of the people who will get the game will play as the male protagonist.
Ubisoft refuses to listen to their audience, just look at the news feed on Uplay (or whatever it's called), sometimes they talk about a title update for one of their games but most of the articles are about "BIPOCS at Ubisoft" or the latest woman hired as chief or VP of whatever-diversity at Ubisoft.

It's funny cause I understand why you'd have male and female characters for say a co op game or something. But then when they made the co op game they claimed they couldn't add female characters...

Then they went and started doing this shit for all the single player games.

Hm, I wonder if the reaction for 6 is gonna be like with 5. When 5 was first announced, you had ASJW flipping their shit about "Dis game is about murderin' 'true 'Muricans!!!", but when it came out SJW's began flipping their shit about the game. So, I wonder if it's going to be the same circus again or if we will have reverse this time around.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=PnAif1xLvJEHA! I love how the faggot who wrote the article brings up fucking Wolfenstein and Mafia 3 as their example of "Dese games remind you that some evils are just evil! How DARE Ubisoft not take such a stance and instead go "Ya know, both sides can really suck" in FC games! REEE!!!". What makes me laugh is again them using Wolfenstein New Order and Mafia 3. With mafia 3 it's hilarious because in the game the main character slowly becomes corrupted himself as he's taking down this criminal empire and isn't really much of a good guy either. An with Wolf, I mean c'mon your main targets are fucking NAzis. Ya know..the the enemies of the MoH series, CoD series, and the OG Wolf Games..But naaah..apparently until New Order people never went "Man, nazis are baaaaad" dumbfucks...

Mafia III is high art.

To add to this some, I think RDR2 and Mafia III make an interesting contrast. I've had Internet arguments where people don't understand why things like getting Karma for killing KKK in RDR2 bothers me, but I like Mafia III. RDR2 casts you as absolute scum - selfish murderers and thieves who don't even do the Robin Hood routine, just steal - but at the same time regularly casts you in the role of some moral superior to 1890s America, that you can destroy people's lives but you're still better than some steamboat waiter who says the nigger word (casino boat mission).

Mafia III has some dumb shit in it - the slave auction is retarded, and the sex slaves are somewhat less retarded - but it doesn't moralize at you. It's pure tribalism.

Yeah I like Just Cause so i'd rather Far Cry go more goofy fun than serious.

That being said, after all of the "it will release before Sept" talk I saw, I see it's now slated for October lmfao.
Wish they went back to the Farcry 2 with the choose you predesigned character that each had their own background and then the others were potential buddies or rivals

This has been a running thing with FarCry that goes back to the release of 3.

When 3 was released a few articles popped up saying there we "undertones" of colonization or some gay shit because Jason Brody was white and killing islanders. Though this was a few years before gaming journalism really went down so nobody took notice.

Then 4's box art is released and people took one look at Pagan Mihn, thought he was white and said the game was insensitive to foreigner's and religion because he was on top of defaced monument with a kyrat native by his feet.

And when 5 was tweeted out on Ubisoft's twitter idiots thought it was gloryfying white supremcy and evangelical christians. Then got their tiny dick's hard because they thought they would be killing them dang dirty christians. However when it turned out to be a doomsday cult every SJW news site cried it wasn't political enough.

But this is clown world my friend, the circus never stops.

Speaking about co-op, I wish they made a co-op mode with its own story like in FC3. FC3 co-op was really fun with 3 other players. You could make your own loadouts, level up your weapons, unlock new ones, etc.

There was someone from IGN (or Gamespot?) who wanted to virtue-signal about picking up a dark skin tone for the protagonist in hope to show the horror of living in Blumpf's Amerikkka and found out that none of the NPCs he encountered called him a nigger. Another one was whining about Hurk's dad who had a line about Obama and libtards.

I'm looking forward to picking this up with the ol' black flag discount on launch. I don't enjoy the gameplay of the Far Cry series for the most part, very bland gunplay and bottom-tier stealth mechanics. I play these games for the unintentional (though I personally suspect it's very intentional) subversion of progresso messages. For example, in 4 everyone was flicking their bean over the fact that you could team up with a strongk woman that was named Anita, just like muh kickstarted grift queen. But if you actually play the game its revealed that she's as bad as, if not worse than, most of the villains. Despite her "equality" and "rights for women" lectures she delivers throughout the game, in the end she puts boys to work at war and the girls to work on the farm. The only difference between her and the other character you can side with, who is basically just a conservative misogynist, is that she plans on growing and selling drugs while he does not.

Its been a while since I played 3, but I remember it being pretty blatant in dunking on "white saviors." The entirety of 5 is basically one big refutation of the idea of gun control. I'm unironically excited to see what they do in 6, but not looking forward to the amount of base capturing I'll be doing in the new "massive" map. I'm so fucking sick of capturing bases.

EDIT:
OUTPOST CAPTURED: 7.62 Muzzle Brake Unlocked

I'd pass just for having buddies that were a bit more serious like in 2 and not annoyingly stupid like in 5. I know I just said I like Just Cause and wouldn't mind Far Cry going goofy but I mean more gameplay wise and less trying to force a meme wise.

Seriously, if Hurk never returned I'd be pretty damn happy.

I never got to play FC3 co op. It seemed like it was always dead on PC.

Also speaking of the libtards line, IIRC wasn't there actually vague criticism of Trump but ONLY by the Seeds? Like the little brother at one point said something like "Look at our President!? How can you not see the worlds ending!?" or something?

Remember that Ubisoft people came out and said they were upset that people took this message, and specifically upset that people were starting to use this song in support of gun rights

Far Cry stories, themes and messaging are so superficial that I wouldn't be surprised if they are not even actually there. It's really hilarious when game journos start taking them seriously.

You pretty much, combined with Faith saying how much the president is gonna screw America.

Okay, conspiracy theory time: I suspect that there is someone in Ubisoft's writing team, or maybe even a few someones, that are really really based. Every Ubisoft game that comes out has a bit of "problematic" content despite how much they virtue signal leading up to the release. I don't think it's just bad writing, I think its intentional, I think there is a rogue element sneaking pilled ideas and plot points into what SHOULD be completely pozzed experiences.

That's the thing, these games SHOULD be completely fucking pozzed, there's no way a studio as obviously progressive as Ubisoft is would ever "accidentally" imply a girl boss is just as capable of attrocities as a male boss ala Farcry 4. In Division there is this evil criminal character that does murders and tortures and is just completely irredeemable that laments, just before they die during a boss fight "Just another number, huh, just more black blood?" Some absolute mad lad had BLM "woe is me" talking points come out of the mouth of a black character that tortures people to death for fun. A studio run and staffed exclusively by social justice dykes and white male allies could not have created this content, there's a fucking wolf among those sheep I swear to god.

Maybe I'm just reading too far into this stuff, maybe I'm giving the progresso crowd too much credit are they really are owning themselves on accident. If that's the case, it's less rad but still very funny and I'm still looking forward to Farcy 6.

That, and a blink and you miss it sidequest about helping a glowie find what are implied to be the Russian piss tapes.

I think it really depends per studio.

Montreal’s writing tends to be stupid and hammy as of late, Toronto’s has some clearly woke undercurrents.

Obviously mileage may vary depending on the studio, and some studios have more independence than others.

Wish you weren't forced to be brown.
I DON'T WANT TO BE BROWN

I'm convinced Ubisoft pulls a bait and switch intentionally, they bait leftists to buy their game at launch because "it's about killing trumpsters man!" then the game really isn't about that at all. Righties see some of the quasi-based stuff after the game launches and then pick it up. I doubt any of the writers care all that much. I doubt they're like ID where you can tell the writers are clearly right wing (praising 2A in interviews, the "transition" and "melting pot" jokes in Doom Eternal, obvious contempt for journalists). Though who knows maybe whoever writes Far Cry see that leftist shit is all hypocrytical since their bosses champion all the lefty shit but apparently treat their staff like trash.

The whole playable female protagonist trope with Ubisoft dates back to Assassin's Creed: Unity's co-op mode.

Whether you believe the whole "double the animations, double the work" story is up to you.

Yeah, that's why I find it so funny that in some co op mode where everyone was just different colors it was impossible, but then in these single player games that require possibly way more work it ain't no thing.

Like, I don't hate Ubisoft like some people (although Far Cry are the only games of theirs I've enjoyed since they killed Splinter Cell) but it's just such obvious pandering.

I'm hoping Gus Fring creates a Tornado Gun, and you have to a use a wingsuit to ride the tornado around the map, blowing up nuclear power generators with a satellite-mounted laserbeam cannon.

Far Cry 6 can have all the grimdark musings on the futility and human costs of war that it wants - just let me ride a tornado around, too.
