This author has only worked with vets - she doesn't know how the military works. If Soap was in there with ear damage he would have been expelled much earlier. I also have to wonder why he wasn't wearing protection. ADHD?

Fun fact: you cannot join the military if you are mute, even if you are Spec Ops. This isn't GI Joe where you can cosplay as Snake Eyes.

Unless you're a wife beater. Then you get rehabilitated by Simon - and boy, wait until you hear the reasons why he does it later in the chapter.

"We're worried we're not serving enough gays and trannies"
"Probably because they got killed by the heckin' mean transphobic wife beaters you let out, chud!"

Soap, in the first chapter:
- admits he hates being social
- actually has no friends
-forgets to use his own email
- has to be reminded to use own email
- isolates himself from others because muh ADHD/PTSD
- wonders why he is lonely
- gets mad when someone tells him to change that
Soap is moody as fuck. I just want to beat him with a belt and tell him to man up.

Scotland is within the UK, so you'd technically be considered a Brit yourself.
Oh I'm sure you would feel very validated, wouldn't you, you wee autist? Gotta love how Soap is deliberately made into being a misogynist as if women aren't allowed to serve in the military and he's never seen one.

So, based on ONE comment, the author concludes Soap is a misogynist. All for saying Ghost making a face mask is a little stupid. Which it is - especially if you get it wrong, go ask RuPaul. Soap acts as if he's never been around gay men, either, who can be very fucking catty on fashion, makeup and self-care. What we can conclude is that Soap is an autistic slob who can't wash his ass and proceeds to make unfunny comments about femininity.
I'm so glad Soap's read articles on rape culture and the patriarchy! He sure is showing us he's changed by JOINING THE MILITARY, which serves the MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX and has helped destabilize nations around the world in the name of FREEDOM and DEMOCRACY. I bet he's read up on Mattress Girl and Duke LaCrosse, too.
To reiterate: Soap is so much of an autist and shut-in he has never talked to women, has never heard of any case relating to the sexual assault of women, has never talked to a woman on base, has never watched a video on the Internet regarding high profile cases or generally have any thought to himself. The author writes him as a colossal retard that, somehow, is 'very perceptive.'
But he does ask a good question. How can Simon square his alleged gender studies by 'rehabilitating' misogynists? He tells us later.

Soap has said nothing transphobic in this work; the author just says he does. She's quite literally shoving her progressive politics into a fictional character's mouth to show how tolerant she is. Guarantee you she got fucking enraged over the Kyle Rittenhouse case.

So, in the name of preventing future harm, Ghost:
- talks to wife beaters about their 'feeeelings'
- wants to get the root of the issue, which is military-issued PTSD
- unpacks their 'societal biases' which made them raise their fists to people they care about
- admits that some don't want to change and never will, and instead of putting them behind bars he releases them back on the streets
- Admits that he has no idea of what the recidivism rate is and probably knows that they'll do it again
Much feminism, much patriarchy.

Is he admitting that LGBT people beat the shit out of their significant others? How homophobic/transphobic. Call the social worker!
Soap cares much about stripping himself of his masculinity - that's how you know he's going to be the one getting railed. We're beating the patriarchy by writing a fic where the two stars are WHITE MALES.

Well at least everyone can be a piece of shit, even the queer ones.
Another casual reminder that there has been no textual evidence Soap has had any success with women socially and that he's terrible at talking to people - well, at least before the retcon in Chapter 3.
His case manager is a woman who wrecked an SUV over dog shit. The things you find in these stories.

Oh, wow! She's got a reference guide! Too bad she didn't put that much effort into watching playthroughs of the game, playing it, or learning how the military actually works. Priorities.
