I'm still sort of weirding myself out because I'm interested in the plot and yet this is Sonichu.

Still, really great work, man! I can't wait until the next page. :D

I just want to say how fantastic the art is. When can we order poster-size blowups of the "PVCC Meeting" panel?

Meanwhile, Naitsihrc has just heard some not-so-good news on the web *sigh*

Little bit of Hubris-In-Action here. The last two panels, I humored my inner graphic artist and fabricated a bunch of tabloid/ newstand magazines in the background... and of course you can only see like 20% of all of them...

SO! As a special treat- here they are, in all of their glory:

Boom-Shaka-Laka.

The magazine covers are easily my favorite part of this comic so far, which is saying a lot because I love all of it. Seriously though, never stop :heart-full:

The teenage crackwhore was the first one I noticed. I think I giggled out loud. :D Also, it's nice to see Bubbles returning to her Marill roots.

_blank_, are you a fan of the Eastman and Laird Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Your art style really reminds me of that, somehow, particularly of the mouths of the Sonichu's. They're not exactly the same, but every drawing of their mouths makes me think of those first wave of TMNT comics for some reason.

You know, I actually grew up with TMNT, both the early 90s cartoon and also the Eastman and Laird comics (when I could sneak 'em by my parents at the time), so I suppose there could be some kind of subconscious workings going on here.

If anything, I suppose I pull a lot of my inspirations from comic artists Darick Robertson, Brian Bolland, and Art Adams, and then do an ungodly fusion dance with animators Don Bluth, and Will Vinton. This is, of course, making my work sound a lot better than it really is, but there ya go.

Actually, I was considering the option of making a RedBubble account, if only to sell reproductions of TRS/ T-shirt designs/ etc. Really, just for the hell of it. But that probably won't be for a while yet, and also if there is actually enough call for it.

I can't believe I'm actually excited to READ more of a Sonichu comic. For once, I actually want to know more about the Chaotic Combo and where they stand on things, instead of just not giving a damn, like with Chris's comics. Keep up the great work!

I'm shocked an appalled by the the scandals going on in CwcVille during the original comic. The newly released tabloids have really exposed the truth!

So I'm just curious, have you done any other comics besides this one?

Ehhhh... kinda sorta. Back when I was with the print industry, I actually had a weekly comic going on as an aside of my actual core job, which was building ads and page layouts. At least that was that case until the print industry faceplanted in '08.

Afterwards, I landed a job as a collections rep, which I fucking hated. I pretty much had no outlet to do anything creative for years, with the exception of scrawling doodles on notepads. I also tried back in 2010 to become a cartoonist for The Escapist, back when they were actively searching for comic writers. I dusted myself off and sent them some sample work, but they turned it down as well as hundreds of others, and picked up "Critical Miss" instead.

Although they didn't attack mine directly (although they did go out of their way to point out any comic with "guys on a couch playing video games" was automatically disqualified), I was pretty distraught about it and, amongst other reasons (pretty much hating 90% of everything), I pretty much gave up on doing anything creative for about 3, 4 years.

And then, about the tail end of 2011, I first became consciously aware of Chris-Chan. Trawled the CWCkipedia for about a year, then eventually joined these here forums. Then one night, joking with my friend who first introduced me to this madness, I decided to make my own rendition of the Sonichu mythos. So, if anything, "The Real Sonichu," is dedicated to her and her outright refusal to let me continue not doing this cartoonist-thing.

Anyway, you're not here for pointless stories- you're here for.... semi-pointless stories. Here's today's page, where we FINALLY introduce what I hope to be one of this comic's main protagonists (outside of Magi-Chan.). Enjoy!

Blank, I am so jealous of your artistry! Really it's awesome, in fact I have been watching your technique closely and hope to learn from it.

The trick is to color within the lines.

Serious though, thanks for the compliment, although I really don't know what I can "teach" you, but I appreciate it all the same. Best of luck with your stuff!

I find it really interesting that there doesn't seem to be a single member of the Chaotic Combo that wants to be on Sonichu's side. I can only imagine what Sonichu must have been like. And I love the promise of Magi-chan and Blake being the main protagonists.

As for "The Rosechu Incident".....maybe it involved a reappearance of a certain Lioness?
