I remember back when I used Facebook over 10 years back. Everyone would easily have their accounts hacked and would spam fucking adverstiments. The site always had shit security.

What would anyone do with the information?
I mean, I'm in my local phone book ffs. So far nothing too bad has happened.

This is true. I deleted my account 4 times only for it to resurface every so often.
Even if you never created an account, you're probably in there somewhere. Nobody uses Facebook, it's just a place for people to exist on. I'd actually recommend most people maintain a dummy account with a fake email address and everything just to have it as proof you're a real person. If you're concerned about opsec and security or whatever, there's probably no bigger red flag to the feds than someone who doesn't have normie social media.

Wait, you’re telling me that everyone else giving their personal information and data to the guy who looks like if the aliens from They Live were real resulted in unforeseen negative consequences? Perish the thought.

Eh, or you can be like me and say some psycho ex started harassing you and now you dont have one.

Has FB made any sort of statement yet? Most sites when leaked tend to have an emergency alert sticky on the front page at the very least, or send an email out.

This doesn't even bother me. The people complaining about it will be the very same people who shame you for not trusting big tech & wanting alternatives & shit. The real answer is to just not use social media but even business' are requiring employees have social media for some stupid ass reason.

Although this is big, it doesn't sound like everyone - 32 million people in US? I would think it would be higher.
