I had a sociology class where all the professors in the department taught a class. One professor raught women's studies and came in to teach about discrimination. When it came up that there were LGBT students in the class she just ignored that discrimination and focused only on how cis females are opressed. (Trannies were ignored. When i brought it up after class she ignored me, to talk to one of my female friends about being im their women's studies program. After class me and her talked about it and she basically said it was fucked that she did that)

You really shocked someone who not only got a gender studies major but teaches it too would be all like "Waaaah my problems are the only ones that matter!"?

More and more empathy is seeming less like a feminine quality.

And this is apparently something really, really offensive?

Are these people so sheltered that this is enough to set them off on how offensive it is?
The real thing is the women that get really offended by this are the ones are sitting there with their giant tote bag taking up the seat next to them.

This article on secret white teacher microagressions makes me wanna cover a Salon writer in honey, and tie them to an anthill.

Jamie Utt said:
Whether we’re referring to our students as “ghetto” or to their parents as “tiger moms” or saying “if only the parents cared about their kids education,” there are many overt ways that we can introduce racially coded language that devalues and/or otherizes our students and their families.

Concepts like "ghetto" and "tiger moms" exist independent of race you stupid cunts. And the second one of your made up substitute terms acquires enough traction to become used by the masses, it'll adopt the same Goddamn stigma. Ever hear of the term "special needs"? It's called "semantic change", and its as strong a linguistic law as recursion.

Also, everything is sexist, and feminists can't draw:

Yup. Because people acting nicer to folks they wanna sleep with is totally something only straight men do. I'm sure no woman in history has ever done the same thing to the George Clooneys of the world. I'm positive no gay guy has ever laid on the charm just because they spotted a sexy boy they wanted to bang.

Anyone who uses the term "microagression" unironically should be deported to Turkmenistan. How fucked up do you have to be to thought police people who are doing something which is not only nice, but isn't even motivated by malicious intent? Are we still sure this isn't a parody site?

Criticizing a Black woman is racist, even if she's being a whiny asshole about stupid shit.

So, for the record- I think this whole dispute between Minaj and Cyrus is stupid. It's music-industry brats having a spat over something that everyone will forget about when the newest celebrity gossip roles around. Basically, it's celebrities thinking that they're much more important than the actually are. Surprise.

This quote from that article really annoys me, though.

"Nicki’s point was to address the music industry’s racism. If Miley can get past her fear of the possibility of being called “racist,” she could notice that her white privilege gives her some power and influence in this industry"

As much as I hate defending Miley Cyrus, she has every right to be afraid of being called "racist". What these people don't seem to realize is that being accused of racism is a really, really damning accusation. It's not just an insult that you can just simply brush off because sticks and stones and all that. It's a PR nightmare that carries a lot of baggage and it has been known to be a career-ruiner.
People like the writer of the article always complain about how others (read whites) are so overly-defensive when it comes to accusations of racism. Do they ever stop to think about the reason WHY people get so defensive about it? Don't get me wrong, actual racism is a terrible thing, but people like those at Everyday Feminsim like to wield the accusation of racism around like it's a weapon and then whine about people always trying to deflect the accusation of being a racist.

I think it's reached the point where accusations of racism are almost on the level of defamation per se, like being accused of being a child molester or a criminal. If not, it should be easier than many accusations to show actual damage if, after such accusations, people's careers suffer greatly and it is attributed to that. Maybe a few hefty libel judgments will cool people's jets on recklessly hurling around damaging falsehoods about innocent people like this.

I don't really like to see debate dampened, but at some point, enough is enough.

Looking at Minaj's original tweets...anyone else think it's a bit ironic that a woman with butt implants is complaining about videos with "very slim bodies"? I mean, who is she to complain about the promotion of body image issues?

I wonder what she would make of a video that featured very slim black women (who do exist)? It almost seems she's implying the natural state of black women is to be overweight.

Nicki has almost as little right to speak on what's natural than Michael Jackson's corpse.

Lots of people know about the butt implants, but that's not even the tip of the iceberg. She has boob implants, a nose job, wears weaves, and her skin has clearly been bleached. Now she's supposed to be some sort of paragon on matters of women's bodies because she's a POC who was offended by a white girl on chuckle-fucking Twitter?

She at least had good plastic surgery, so I'll put her above Blac Chyna. But for her to have the chutzpa to speak on "naturalism" or "black body issues" is tantamount to being lectured on how homosexuality is bad by :stupid:.

I wonder how she may have looked before all that?

I did find this photo of her younger self, and I have to say she's not bad-looking at all in my own humble opinion.

It's extremely hard to win libel/slander cases even when it's probably true, most people don't bother. I'd say at this point that the "racist" card is, if anything, losing value because people throw it at everyone and anyone they don't like for any reason at all. ( I've been called racist for towing illegally parked cars where I never MET the owner to even KNOW their race....) It's overused and the general public knows it's overused, the only people who still use it like it has currency are these SJW types. Sure, celebrities and public figures still fight it tooth-and-nail because they live in a world where to not deny it means it's true, but just once, I'd like to see one say "How?" and let the SJWs show how bigoted and ignorant they are by trying to prove it, because every defense against it opens up MORE avenues of attack, once you accept you've been put on the defensive, the SJWs will pound on you until you relent or get tired of the fight. If only we wouldn't take the bait.... but I see why we do, nobody WANTS to be called a racist, no matter how silly the logic. I wish people would just firmly say "no" and get on with their lives.

Better yet, the next person accused of it should just laugh it off.... I'd LOVE to see the SJW's mass-implode when their magic words no longer have any effect. People ARE getting sick of it internally, but are still just a bit too afraid of looking bad to publically say "stuff it" just yet.
