People who claim "everything is political" are invariably the most odious, if not downright batshit, people on earth.
Considering these sites always have "how to put up with your relatives who have different political views" articles during the holidays, surely there's an untapped market for how to put up with perpetually triggered twats.
But they can't simply choose to not go to the family get together. Because mommy and daddy pay all their bills, so they can't say no when the parents demand they go.Like, no one comes to your home to literally force you to eat Christmas dinner. No one ties you to the chair and forces mashed potatoes in there. Go out or don't come over. The takeout places are open. If you need to preserve your intellectual safe space at holidays, just fucking DO IT and don't be a cunt.

This is not to shame our preferences, but a call for us to examine why we have our preferences. While I don’t necessarily think we should pursue sex and relationships to satisfy some political standard, because that can lead to tokenism—that is, the practice of making only a symbolic effort to do a particular thing—we have to understand that more goes into our sexual experiences besides who attracts us.

I found this part very interesting. So I shouldn't force myself to be attracted to someone because it might lead to tokenism, not because I would forcing myself into a situation where I felt coerced into having sex for political reasons lest I be a racist? I know we all see this line touted again and again by the hard left, but almost never so insidiously. It takes a very kind of sociopathic disconnect to forget that the individual offering their body to your "colored person" is a human being and not just a more or less consecrated virgin sacrifice on the altar of social justice.
Not sure why dealing with unlikable family members is such a struggle for these people. Loving people you would never willingly spend time with covers about 10-25% of family interactions.

To be fair, I'd defend that too - everyone has their sexual preferences. However, in this case they would almost certainly vilify the white man if the situation were reversed.According to their FB page, EF will totally defend a female POC refusing to date a white man. Since white people are the ones with all the privilege and that alone is too much for them to bear.

They're a step away from saying "Remember, if someone buys you dinner, they expect something for it..."Also, I see a LOT of 'cotton ceiling' rhetoric being used there without the actual phrase itself being used. Because y'know even third wave feminists have trouble accepting 'as a woman, it is your duty to be NICE and fuck someone with a penis who wants to fuck you even if you really don't want to fuck them because you're supposed to be NICE'.
"more goes into our sexual experiences besides who attracts us."
Wat?
What world are you living in where people are trying to have sexual experiences with things that don't turn them on?
Not being turned on kinda makes the "sexual" part of "sexual experience" a no go, or are we supposed to just lie back and think ofEnglandour moral superiors?
Wonder how many of these people are only children with minimal succesful contact other children. Usually siblings cousins help develop a tolerance to other people bullshit. The absence of this thickening of the skin would explain a lot.It makes a lot more sense when you consider that these are the people who 100% unironically believe that listening to someone with an opinion that differs from theirs is exactly the same thing as being raped.
I have a 100% foolproof method for dealing with politically troublesome relatives, if that bothers y'all so much.
Don't see them.

These are the same kind people who believe voting for Trump was an act of terrorism. They don't believe in difference of opinion.Good god. What kind of relatives do these people have? My grandfather would go into political rants from time to time, but we'd just be like, "Okay Pap, whatever."
I'm pretty sure there's a bit where they make eye contact and realise that each of them is only pretending to love the PartyI got the impression Winston and julia's mutual attraction was based on the fact they were the only normal people about and everyone else was a dour shithead obsessed with politics and victory against an omnpresent faceless enemy....on reflection that's why Everyday femminsm most likely doesnt get it.
