Ultimately, to do more with it than listen in on Skywarn, NOAA bands, police/fire (if they are unencrypted), or use it on HAM freqs you need to start finding people to develop a network with so you can start doing directional antennas and burst transmission.
 
I watched that whole damn thing and all I could think about was that time he gleefully regaled the world with his tale of how he left his neighbor to ride her motorized wheelchair in the snow to the grocery store. Drove past her. Then saw her broken down on the side of the road and drove past her again. This is the prize asshole who is asking for community funding because he somehow provides some sort of roadside assistance to people in need of help.

The scary thing is that he legitimately believes he was doing “the Christian thing” by refusing to help her. He also legitimately believes he’s a “prophet of God.” Bob is legitimately insane and evil to the core.

Insult to injury, when people called him on it, he got indignant and informed everyone that the church donated him that vehicle so that HE AND RENE could go where THEY Needed to go! This video is almost impossible to get through, as FB doesn’t let you speed up the playback. Bob fumes about how “they” think “they” are the only ones who view his CAER page or weather reports, but in fact Bob’s services are very much in demand by many who appreciate him. Yet while sharing that a mystery person gifted him batteries, Bob rages against the gift giver, saying it was probably a troll playing a joke. He also doxes himself again:
