Has Eugenia ever had much of a following from anyone that's not there to gawk at a skelly freakshow (or get off on it)? I've always been under the impression her being a skelly was the only reason anyone paid attention to her.

I think people still part of the emo scene at the time liked her hair and makeup tutorials but past that it seems its just viewers there for the skelly.

Many with EDs do it because they have been subjected to physical or sexual abuse. many victims of sexual abuse seek to desexualise themselves, though some go totally the opposite way. i don't think anyone actively chooses to get an ED, they can be quite insidious in the way they creep up and by the time the sufferer realises what's happening, it's out of control and they probably don't want to stop anyway because their behaviours bring them comfort.

I'm not sure you can actively choose to starve yourself to emaciation just because you want attention. I'm sure some relish the attention their figures provoke but by that point they are deep enough into the disease for it to show physically.

There are also genetic risk factors, and of course social and cultural.

Ok, I’m going to say it. Her “dancing” looks stupid. What the hell is she doing with her hands? And is she unable to close her lips over her teeth now?

The rictus grin and the empty eyes adds another level to the horror that is her body.
 
Debates on government intervention aside. I wonder what would happen if she was prevented from posting on social media until she either "ate correctly for the day" or added on some pounds for a heathy weight.

I suspect a large part of why she does this is because it gains her attention. If you take away her attention until she becomes a healthier weight, which be the greater motivator? Anorexia or the draw for attention on social media? Are many cases of Anorexia all about getting attention?

We must know for science.
