As reported in the increasingly fast-paced Walker/Michaud combo thread, E-Rod is gone as of today.

Like I said over in the main CA thread. That video is like He was sitting in the toilet on the Titanic with his head phones on. Rocking away oblivious to the screams around him. Until he felt his socks get wet. He steps out side and wonders "Were'd everybody go?" "But I was gonna be in the anniversary special man... I was gonna be a made man at last... I coulda been somebody,,, I coulda been a contenda!"

An 18 minute video from a guy who's literally the bottom of the barrel? Does he honestly think he's that popular?

Watch the video. It will quickly become clear that his thinking is limited, has a short battery life, and is at best erratic. It's really oddly charming. He seems to not quite have realized the enormity of what is burning down around him. He's still working through the 10th anniversary special that he was invited to, and that got cancelled. Somehow he is not yet up to speed on the whys and such.

I will give him credit, for a guy who's characters's sole power it the ability to rip-off clone other characters' powers, at least he managed to keep from stealing any of Michaud's powers or JewWario's powers of date rape.

Eric's actual "why I quit" video wasn't posted here yet:

You know, much as I despise his content I can't help but feel sorry for the poor guy. He worked his ass off to get on the site for nearly two years, he never got to take part in any of the anniversary specials (aside from a 5-second cameo in To Boldly Flee) which was his dream and when he was finally invited to the ten-year anniversary, the whole thing got cancelled because Michaud is the biggest fuckup in the universe. And nobody on the site even bothered to tell him why it was cancelled, it was Linkara who clued him in to the happenings behind the scenes.

Apparently, not even Angry Joe knew that the 10 year anniversary was cancelled until Holly informed him.

Also ERod hasn't been making any money from his videos directly ever since Blip shut down.

I'll have to take your word on that. I watched him bitching about the 10th anniversary special and how burned he was about that. Didn't really care for the rest.

I imagine his experience was not unlike someone who aspired to work at Pixar, only to discover that the figurehead they admired so much was a handsy pervert who wouldn't keep his hands off the ladies dressed like Tinkerbell.

Part of me does feel sorry for Eric. As much as he is a ripoff of Doug's style, he really does come off as someone who wanted to just make people laugh and bring a little happiness to the world for a bit.

Why did Channel Awesome have so many fuckers that were on the site 1+ years and it some cases like Film Brain were on the site since nearly the beginning that still got shit views, a real business would have got rid of them to make room for those with better viewership or those with the potential to grow.
It is telling his most viewed video by far is "I Quit Channel Awesome"

I guess as TGWTG didn't host the videos itself, they didn't need to worry about hosting space. That said, FilmBrain did had his own section on the "grid " thing on the old site's layout.

But I agree they didn't need so many. If there were only six "slots" a day which had to be fought for, and Doug took two a day, that's twenty slots in a working week - they didn't need twenty autists.

And don't forget that Doug does events like Disneycember where he craps out a five minute vlog that takes up another slot.

Agreed. Eric may be an unoriginal cringelord with a low-end z-list youtube show, but the man has a heart. He's like the little train that could if the little train that could was a mexican with autism posting goofy nonsense on youtube and making people laugh (no matter if thats intentionally, or as in most cases I've laughed at his stuff, unintentionally.)

Y'know, I don't hate ERod. I actually don't mind his content compared to some of the other CA alumni... or ex-alumni, I suppose, It's not great stuff but it makes okay background noise. Also I do actually prefer his newer style. Sure, the skits are dumb as shit, but a two-second skit of ERod slapping a character from a movie mixed into what is otherwise a relatively standard review is a lot better than the whole-plot recap with zero analysis offered by Doug or Lewis.

Also his Honest Reviews were always pretty decent, so his Blockbuster Buster content leaning closer to that is a good thing.

ex-alumni

Alumni are already former somethings so ex-alumni is redundant.

Don't know if this was shared elsewhere but BlockbusterBusters review of Justice League (trailer) features our featured ginger sperg.
