With the way he talks about his teslas getting bombed you would think there’s an actual civil uprising going on. Blowing up empty cars, believe it or not, isn’t terrorism if nobody is getting physically hurt.
Assuming the intent of the arsonsists is one of those listed in (5)(B), this meets the statutory definition of domestic terrorism. But if their intent was "these cars are ugly and I'm trying to beautify the city," it would not be terrorism. I already posted an example of environmental terrorists being convicted for (among other things) setting fire to a car dealership.
(5)the term “domestic terrorism” means activities that—
(A)
involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State;
(B)appear to be intended—
(i)
to intimidate or coerce a civilian population;
(ii)
to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or
(iii)
to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and
(C)
occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States;
