The only problem is the site is seemingly based on applications and not necessarily successful applications. So potentially that is what was paid to foreign workers.

(Also I have an autistic friend who is combing through a lot of the companies actually listed. Many of them appear to be fronts that don't actually do anything. For example, Vintage Design Group applied to hire an architect intern. Even a cursory inspection of their site would reveal that there isn't any actual company here.)

I'm not familiar with every area but I decently know Austin. 80k a year is like 63/65 after taxes or like 5.5k a month. Austin rent is like 1.3k-2k a month varying. It's also a growing area so cost are only going to rise year to year. Average home price is like half a million so some will be higher some lower but overall right in the middle. Some brief searching has led me to believe the lower end of 'home' costs are really just glorified apartments or condos albeit in pretty nice areas. But example...500k home 6% interest rate is like 2.5k a month. if the interest rate was like 3-4% it would be a little under 2k. Either way..You're not exactly chilling. Why would world class talent be paid such low wages? Even a small bump to a gross 6 figure income would give more breathing room and result in living cost being under that 33% of income that's become standard life advice in the United States.

In Canada, jeets casually & openly commit mortgage fraud like it's a fucking sport. There's even been a few exposes on the 'jeet mortgage fraud industry, although for some strange reason it never resulted in any type of government crackdown. Tldr; there's an industry of jeet mortgage "consultants" who cook up falsified documents claiming a jeet seeking a mortgage actually has millions of dollars of assets overseas in India/is earning millions of dollars a year. Canadian banks (i.e. banks with corrupt jeet managers working alongside said consultants) is like "yeah that checks out" than jeet gets handed million dollar mortgage from Canadian bank they absolutely do not qualify for. Jeet proceeds to rent out property to other jeets to pay mortgage/becomes a slumlord.

Saw someone make a really interesting point that Americans cant possibly compete with third-world cultures because they're bug-hive-swarm cultures. It's not worth it to hire juniors anymore. Why hire a junior when you can hire a "senior" H1B who would work more hours for same pay. Young people cannot find a job.

These H1B don't spend. When a US man gets high salary, he will buy goods, luxuries, etc. These guys just send thrir money back home.
