Perfectly acceptable if that's your preferred style/method of meeting new people and you have the personality type for it. Musicians and artists and models have existed since the dawn of time, art schools since just after the dawn of time. Just don't look around in that manner if you don't like to - that's how chicks like Mallory Ortberg get hurt and wind up in poonertown.

I did give such "style" a try but it felt like I was surrounded by addicts. I, for better or for worse, don't have the personality type for it.

they never pan out for a wide shot of these people and they frame the close-ups as to cover up the fact that the women are all diminutive figures and the men are all huge, but they did use a wide shot for the thumbnail. This image is hilarious tbh, especially how teeny ellen is. the huge black man behind her is like a exclamation point on her smallness.

Can't wrap my head around casting this husk in The Odyssey. The only reason I can think of is for virtue signaling purposes and to cash in on the almighty troon dollar (which people still insist is a massive market) but if so why are they not slapping her all over the marketing?

Also I genuinely think the trailer looks like shit, more specifically the armor (much to the dismay of all filmbros in my life). It looks like Walmart plastic.

I'd rather rewatch Gladiator for 48 hours straight.

The casting decisions for the film (made by both he and his wife, Emma Thomas who's probably a Hollywood libfem) happened way before the SCOTUS cases about transitioning minors and allowing boys to compete in girls' sports. There has been national news coverage on both and neither issue has majority support. Troon fatigue is real out there. They'd have to be out of their minds to call attention to Ellen playing a male role in The Odyssey (a classic, very male coded story) right now.

In fact, according to my friendly neighborly search AI, none of the usual Hollywood gossip sites have named who she's playing yet. Not one. Kek. (Insert "stealth" joke here.) I bet that's because they don't want any sort of pre-release grousing or mockery to influence ticket sales in July. They want a profit on that $250 million that they laid out doing (yet another) remake of an already well known (and well done before) classic. So even with the star studded cast, if they gave it too much of a woke wash treament, too much CGI, or too much of anything that movie goers have maxxed out on lately, it could conceivably bomb out. Or worse, become a painful meme.

I don't think it's gonna bomb, to be honest. Being a meme, it's more likely. Napoleon (which bombed) had less negativity when we had teasers and trailers, unlike this one that's made historians and nerds seethe over the historical inaccuracies. Normies are gonna watch it, so they won't let it bomb, but it's not gonna be taken seriously at all.
 
It's been a while since we've had an update here so I had a look for news and found this link,
complete with an AI voiced video which describes her as a him throughout, then completely ignores
the whole part about her becoming a him. There's a few pics which show how tiny she is too.
