Only modern Hollywood could make one of the oldest known stories from the West into a modern summer slopbuster. Throwing as many A Lister big names actors/actresses as the budget would allow because people only watch movies if they have the most popular celebrities that they can recognize. Literally all of it looks like it was filmed on a soundstage and the actors aren't interacting with the environment because there literally is none. Drab muted colors because every modern motion picture has to either be a bright sensory overload or have a colour pallette of a doctor's office. Movie is based on Ancient Greek history yet lacks any historical authenticity or even attempts to look Greek, including casting people in Greek roles who clearly look nothing like Greek people.

Vanessa Williams is a very good actress and a very strong woman. Seriously, think about how the public and her industry turned on her so hypocritically and never gave her any recognition for things she had actual skill in. But she never let it bring her down! That's a good example for sad girls. Why isn't she in the new one instead of Ellen, she could be old Tiresias or something.

The Armand Assante miniseries was fun, too. And Sean Bean in Troy wasn't too bad.
