Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the 11th Democratic presidential debate, on Sunday, is set to look and sound quite different from the previous 10.

To prevent further transmission of the virus, the Democratic National Committee announced Thursday it will hold the debate in Washington, D.C., with no live audience, instead of its original planned location of Arizona, one of four states voting on Tuesday.

The debate is being hosted at 8 p.m. ET by CNN along with CNN en Español, CNN International and Univision, and will take place at CNN studios.

The debate will be moderated by CNN's Dana Bash and Jake Tapper and Univision's Ilia Calderón.

They were originally to be joined by Univision's Jorge Ramos although the network has since announced that he will not to be part of the debate following a potential secondary exposure to the coronavirus.

Which candidates will be there?

Former Vice President Joe Biden and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders are the remaining two viable contenders for the Democratic nomination and will be the only candidates onstage Sunday night.

This comes following a series of presidential candidates suspending their campaigns in the days before and after the Super Tuesday contests on March

Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard is still actively running, though she did not meet the DNC's qualification for the debate. A candidate needs at least 20% of delegates awarded so far to be onstage; Gabbard has earned just two delegates out of nearly 1,800 awarded so far.

Begins at 8 PM EST and ends at 10 PM EST

In this penultimate(?) Democratic debate, Former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden and U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders will help America decide whose the most electable Democrat (answer: probably noone)

Your Candidates Are:
Joe Biden

Bernie Sanders

And sadly no Tulsi Gabbard : (

So, with the stage no longer loaded with candidates, and without any supportive audiences, what do you guys think the outcome will be? Will Bernie turn out to be more mentally sound than Biden and use the debate to make a comeback? Or will Bernie cuck out again? Who knows!

A silent hall, seated, and no one to interrupt their 10 second soundbytes.. Should make for some awkward ramblings.
Look for sweeping generalizations and promises of billions of dollars from an imaginary "1%" repeated to the point of absurdity.

Oh, and Trump will be blamed for the chinese flu.

That's if Biden even remembers theres a pandemic atm.
With bernie i suspect "I WILL ALLOCATE MILITARY AND BORDER FUNDING TO FIGHT DA CORONA SHOAH AND ALLOW PEOPLE FROM CHINA TO ENTER THE STATES WITH OUR NEW FREE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM DUE TO DONALD TRUMPS XENOPHOBIA"
*have to capitalize because the fuck doesn't understand what an inside voice is*

my debate day wish is for biden to do something so undeniably senile that the media has difficulty covering for him, like pissing his pants or losing control of his dentures or w/e

I have little doubt that he will have his mental equivalent of Hillary's "side of beef" incident in the coming months.

Let's be clear, this is not a debate. This is Sanders kneeling down and kissing the ring, trying to get his base to come together and sing kumbaya with the neolibs because he knows that he's going to get BTFO in the upcoming primaries. We're officially at the "Vote for the establishment" phase of his campaign.

No refunds.

Taking odds that during one of the awkward empty-hall-magnified silences, Biden asks what the hell Sanders is doing in HIS house

Yeah literally Biden could die mid-debate on camera while raping a kid, kicking a puppy, and screaming how much he hates Florida and he still would beat a commie in Florida

they'll have him juiced up with some kind of upper to keep him focused and coherent enough to get through this.
If they get him really juiced up maybe he'll challenge Bernie to doing pushups and just drop to the floor and start going at it. That would be great to watch.

The media is desperate for ratings and distractions. Remember that back in 2016, Trump eventually said “enough” to the constant debates because even though he was dominating, they wanted several more debates? At this point debates are unlikely to change anything. Not even worth the effort in doing them at this point.

If I was Bernie I'd be hoping for Biden to go full Alzheimers on stage and demonstrate he's not mentally capable of being POTUS. If I was Biden I'd hope to outflank Bernie on intersectionality while pointing out his healthcare plan would triple the debt - standard corporate Democrat shit.

Come to think of it it's more like 'If I were Biden's team' at this point - he's just some corpse they're propping up because they fear Bernienomics or another Trump term in general and another Trump SCOTUS appointment in particular.

The problem for Bernie is that even if he makes Biden look like the meatpuppet he is the media will just ignore it. The problem for Biden is that he's not mentally agile, most Democrat activists hate him because he's not far left enough and the only way he can go is down from this point. Not to mention that if he pivots left to try to attract the activists that will hurt him badly in the general election. E.g. when it comes to gun control he seems like he's going to piss off the sort of Democrats who prefer him to Sanders.

I was under the impression it was also about trying to salvage the lower elections, looking at if Bernie would alienate not-commie democrats and cause losses at the state and local levels. Like, neither is expected to win but one bleeds everybody else worse.

Perhaps, but you could see Never Bernie Democrats doing what Never Trump Republicans and voting Democrat down ballot while abstaining in the presidential vote. Also, US politics is not about voting for someone you like, it's voting against someone you hate and fear. The media will go full-on 'Another Trump term means the end of democracy' regardless of who the candidate is. I'm not convinced the Never-X people are numerous enough to make a difference once the hate and fear treatment by the media has done its thing.

Also even if Bernie gets in you could make an argument that the hard left doesn't have a majority in Congress so they can just stymie the bits of his agenda they don't like. Trump didn't get his wall and President Sanders wouldn't get Medicare For All.

Pre-show is on. It's amusing to watch the absolute bias of CNN towards Biden while they just mention Bernie every now and then and even shameless say that Sleepy Joe is the choice of the democratic party. Top kek.

I'm looking forward to some excellent 'When did you stop beating your wife?' questions aimed at Bernie.

The TDS is real, too. They were just bitching about Donald Trump because he was shaking people's hands.
