I'd been using Mimic Tear as my "in case of annoying boss, break glass" summon for many, many playthroughs. But this time I was trying a dex build that mostly uses physical damage (with some occasional lightning) instead of my usual caster builds, so I thought I'd try using Stormhawk Deenh instead.

Turns out that bird really is the word. He spends a ton of time out of range of enemies while still holding their aggro, and many enemies have attacks that just utterly miss him, so he's effectively tankier than the mimic and plenty of fights end with him barely scratched. And that +20% physical damage and poise damage aura he gives you is legit. If you're not focusing on elemental damage and/or status buildup, he's a lot more fun than the mimic while needing less setup. I'm sure there are bosses with a ton of aoe spam and tracking projectiles that might hard counter, but those aren't that common.

Can't remember, does that damage stack with war-/battle cry, or does it count as a body buff (meaning: no stacking)?

But yeah I like the birb, one of the more fun ones. Unpredictable movement, might not get hit once, might get swatted down all the time.

You should give old Dung Eater a try. He spams Sword of Milos debuff + gets a gorillion poise doing his modded R2 after.
Also spams Regal Omen Bairn on zippy flying anime bosses. Chuck an agro pot and he goes absolutely bonkers.
Plus his Omen Bairn tracks like no one's business and does a metric ton of poise damage.
Now if you go all out and buff him he's an absolute monster.
I ran several low level twinks through DLC to completion and poopy boy straight carried em through with me cheesing everything via rot/poison pots and frost bite. Just heal him up from time to time with prayerful strike.
You just gotta deal with him yelling crazy talk constantly.

We can now buy horse armor in Elden Ring

Nigga that's a main character from Dark Souls 2

they just slightly altered the name, but its her, she wears the mask because her knight order all wear those masks, she isn't a pooner, your slander is not warranted.
She could have had every other mask, and instead she chose to wear the most masculine mask imaginable. If anything you fucking know the fanbase will now poonerize the DS2 character.

I'm sure the redditors have been claiming Lucatiel is a troon since DS2 anyway. Just like they've done with Gwyndolin. Nothing new there. Just call them faggots and move on.

she can't, her order all wear the same mask, there's nothing more too it, I'm sure its some sort of Spanish reference, considering her armor and now her new ash of war for her famous sword.

Parries got easier with the latest patch. Technically just slight adjustments; one active parry (or a startup) frame here or a recovery frame there - but it does feel a bit better, especially with daggers.

I was already a half-decent 5/10 parry enjoyer, now I feel like a 6/10. What a difference!

I got a parry-Wakizashi in my off hand just for style points. Not even paired with a katana, but a longsword. You still get cool benefits from a parry dagger though, sometimes you only have time for a quick dagger swipe before having to dodge/parry again. Also, transitioning from a normal dagger attack into a heavy main weapon attack is faster than just only swinging with the main weapon. This strange mismatched rhythm kind of makes the combat flow in a slightly different, interesting way if you enjoy finding some wiggle room with timings and such.

Well they tweaked parry frames on a lot of weapons. Shamshir seems to be the current cookie cutter parry tool.
They also made recovery times a little bit better on parry.
Plus parry out of hitstun is on par with DS3 now for the most part.
I messed around with it for a few hours and put it down.

Guys, guys. Pooner, troon or a woman - it's only there to be killed and robbed. I'd say it's pretty based!
Poon goon, shroom, pink yellow, blue, whatever man this weapon's good shit.

Didn't everything that can parry get shifted? Shamshir being a little closer to the original buckler is kinda scary. Time to think about claw talisman more.

There are pre and post patch charts out there now. Chase has been doing videos since then showcasing several tools and the changes.
I wanna say Steel did a semi in depth vid and posted charts right when the patch went live.
On the upside people throwing out hail parries is all over the place. I've just broke out ye olde DS3 couner using Painful Strike and the tooth whip. It slaps a stamina regen debuff on them for 30 seconds. Plus yeah rips their stamina apart.
Im not sure if it stacks with Frostbite in ER for the debuff but it did in DS3.
Regardless though the debuff by itself is pretty big and tanks their ability to roll spam. Now if stacks it'd be flat out disgusting.
Used to bait people into chokepoints in DS3 to roll into stapfrreze and follow up with Painful Strike.
The hitbox came out super fast and almost always roll caught and stunlocked them so they got hit with both debuffs at once.
I can't be hassled to figure out a strat for it in ER because I've pretty much left the game behind.
There might be potential for you there though. That strat got me blocked by 90% of Pontiff gankers and bonfire duelist.
Maybe From overlooked it again?
