These deaths have done more to squash racism than BLM has in 6 years

Nas said he was the last real nigga alive, but it's official: the real last one has just left us.

Josh has to carry on the Ruff Ryder legacy now.

The real OGs don't dance.

Watching 20+ years of his music videos today, it's remarkable how consistent his image is: raw, up front, in your face, always in loose pants and a tank top or leather overcoat, usually sticking to street backgrounds. The guy kept his music fresh, without re-inventing himself or trying to latch on to a trend.

He was always the showcase of his own songs--there aren't many collaborations or out of place guest verses, like in Kanye or Jay-Z songs. He didn't rely on 5 writers and 10 producers for a single 3 minute track.

Also, YouTube's "would you like to know more?" algorithm is still hawking DMX's upcoming tour dates. Yikes, not a good look dawg.

Raw unadulterated talent.

"When you walk past the doghouse, leave it a bone."

Rapping talent aside, I remember X givin' it to ya from Def Jam Vendetta as well. RIP, King. Arf Arf.

Some more quotes for @Null collection:

I ain't a dancing nigga, I just move to the beat
Sit there and nod my head but won't move my feet
Gangsta, so I'm holdin' up the wall
That dancing shit up to the rest of y'all
---
And I'm still going through it, pain and the hurt
Soaking up trouble like rain in the dirt
---
What's gon' be the outcome? Hmm, let's add up all the factors
You wack, you're twisted, your girl's a hoe
You're broke, the kid ain't yours, and e'rybody know
Your old man say you stupid, you be like, "So?"

I bet reddit and twitter going to be full of people complaining about how "2021 is literally the worst year ever", like they usually do when famous people die, lmao
Anyway RIP phil, RIP nog

I'm not an anti-vaxxer (the chance of dying from the Pfizer vaccine is something like 1/100000 and thats with a dataset skewed older) but caution is advised for Covid vaccines on people with asthma as averse reactions have been reported. DMX had asthma so severe that as a child he regularly had to go the emergency room so complications are certainly not out of the question.

I saw DMX out in public one time: he came into a bar I was working at. I was drinking a beer after my shift when a co-worker tapped me on the shoulder and pointed behind me to a guy surrounded by a posse, playing pool and smoking a cigarette. Sure enough it was DMX in the flesh. Smoking was absolutely not allowed inside but of course no one was going to say shit to him. After a while the glamour faded; after all he was just another dude playing pool. I finished my drink and left for home.
RIP you rebel
