Don't care about capeshit and rereleases and remasters, (contradiction, I know) FF7 was the only thing that I was interested in for presentation.

Adding to this:
Final Fantasy Tactics: A change of pace from the main series as this is a strategy RPG. If you like Game of Thrones, you might get into it since it shares the same inspiration and tone. It's noted to have the same world as FFXII which was kind of unexpected.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance: Take the gameplay from above and make the story about a bunch of kids trapped in a magic book trying to find a way home.

I haven't played a lot of spinoffs apparently. I have a disagreement about FF3, I personally liked it but a negative I have is that the bosses get kind of gimmicky for a game that offers options. For example, a boss that has one weakness means you need to have a specific set up to exploit that weakness.
 
Decent way to end it in theory as everyone was screaming about Avengers in twitch chat. Game looks meh though, ah well at least we got to the good shit early.

Also for anyone that wants to have a brief summary on what the fuck is going on in FF14 I can briefly sum up the general idea without spoiling...much.

So the basic premise of the entire expansion is we've entered a different version of the world that 14 has been in since the beginning. Basically this different version of the world had heroes that were so good at defeating evil that effectively caused a flood of light because balance is fucked, because light and darkness balance yada yada. We've come to this world to in theory tip the balance back in order and save this different version of the world. Their is some other context/deep lore stuff going on, but that is the basic idea of what is going on and the big mic drop at the end completely fucks with everything we've been doing this entire time and I'm still not sure how to process that.

This entire expansion is based on a plot point brought up 3+ years ago, this story has so much fucking going on and even this vaguely explained explanation is only the tip of the iceberg.
 
I'll admit I'm the only person excited for Hank Pym in that Avengers reveal and his stupid red jumpsuit. Brings me back to better times when he was the Avenger's West Coast resident incel where he almost ate a gun after the team's bicycle (Tigra) turned him down. But I doubt that'll be a part of the game.
 
It was generally good. DQ, FF, and Romancing SaGa? Yes please.

No idea why in the fuck they remade Last Remnant though.

I don't even think its a remake. I think its just a port because it only said Switch.

Edit: It looks like its just the Remaster from PS4. The games been pulled from steam though for some reason.
 
The avengers game coming out in less while only showing snippets of obviously fake gameplay is a REALLY bad sign.

I'm reeling but I love it. Love it, love it, love it. I cannot believe I didn't see it coming.

Why can't any of the Primals we've fought temper us? Because we were already tempered. By the first and oldest Primal. The second we made the character and clicked Start Game.

But at the same time, it comes from a character whose word we can't totally trust, so there's just enough room for a seed of doubt but on the other hand it makes a stupid amount of sense, and it has that awful "I am your father" weight of inevitability to it and...wow I just love this.

Also I want every mongoloid in the Twitch chat gassed to death. Please hook us up, Solus.

It's a port, yeah. They put it out on PS4 last year without telling anyone pretty much and now they're doing Switch because why not I guess.

Anyway content-wise I think this was my favorite press conference of the bunch so far as I want to play a lot of these games, hell SaGa alone got me hyped, everything else was just gravy. The presentation itself was utter shit though, just dragged on a lot. Almost every section was too long, even FF7 because of the talking followed by translations. Could have handled that much better.

I'm so fucking confused, everything about this has been fucked since 3.4. The whole light and dark balance making our fight endless by design, now we're tempered by one of the first primals ever? What the actual fuck is going on? What does that mean for any of us if we need to fight back? What does it mean for the Scions as a whole or the echo? I also role play in FFXIV (Actual role playing) and have heavily tied myself to this story and being the WoL and all that shit. I'm going to be fucked up both in and out of character once this is actually explained in proper context. I just REALLY hope this isn't a total ass pull, I'll be so pissed after they've kept this story fairly consistently strong for so long and the Garlean stuff was kind of pushing it for me with the big twists. We can sperg in PM or something if you want, so we don't shit up the thread any further.

Overall for this conference, I thought it was good, not TOO much time wasting, translations are slow which kind of sucks but I'm used to that with following FFXIV for so long so I take that as an acceptable loss. Obviously if you're not interested in anything it sucks, and I get why people wouldn't be interested in a lot of this stuff, but it at least didn't stupidly drag except maybe the Avengers part. B for me, probably a C to C- if you don't really care about much overall F------ if you care about Hawkeye.
 
The Avengers trailer was beyond disappointing. They revealed disappointing AF cinematics and ZERO of the gameplay. After years of waiting, and this is what we get.

Plus, I absolutely hate Captain America and Black Widow's character designs. Cap looks like he belongs in Call of Duty (which I'm sure was intentional), and Black Widow looks downright mousy. Clearly they "updated" her look to make her less "male gaze-y," so now she looks like a 13 year old. Thanks, I hate it!

Call me when Insomniac Games releases a sequel to Spider-Man, thankyouverymuch.

Black Widow has a bit of a horse face I thought. The West refuses to make attractive lady protagonists.
