The story is really slow at this point, though the ifrit bit is kind of interesting comparatively speaking. To me when you get past Titan is when things start to speed up. I'd highly encourage you to keep going when you have time. ARR is a little eh especially all the stuff after 50 until just unlocking Heavensward, but I feel Heavensward holds up really well as a story and Stormblood is also pretty good.

Watch Dogs 2 was too cringy for me to play for any longer than an hour since it was basically Dangerhair Fantasies: The Game. The trailer even had an anti-Trump thing in it before the guy even got elected. I'm not really surprised WD3 is what it is. I guess a game about ~hackerz~ in Clown World really couldn't be anything but some kind of REEEE garbage.

I couldn't even get far enough into Watch_Dogs 2 to get triggered by its politics.

Compared to the first game, it was just poorly made. Yeah, it added new features and a lot more side content, but the world felt strangely empty (very few people on streets), things like police chases didn't flow well, the cars handled like garbage.

It didn't feel right. And then there was the narrative dissonance. I could completely believe Aiden Pearce picking up a gun and massacring black gangsters. I can't, on any level, believe Marcus Holloway even holding a gun. The game would have been better if they had either made DedSec out to be less like some faggoty meme club and more like a terrorist cell, or if they had made the game nonviolent/limited to nonlethal weapons.

It makes considerably less sense than that. London has become an authoritarian police state, but at the same time "the government has fucked off and extremists are grabbing power. Organized crime is slicing up the boroughs."

This seems to be a common problem in games, especially Ubisoft ones. They're creatively bankrupt, so they just go with the laziest possible story every time, which is "your enemies are evil for X reason, and also they're criminals." They did a similar thing in Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, where every aspect of Victorian London is supposed to be controlled by Templars (which is ironic, seeing as Victorian Britain was one of the high points of classical liberalism, which used to be the Assassin's ideology), yet the Templars are also using street gangs to control the city.

In fact, they advertised the game like the Assassins would be "creating organized crime," but then they completely reversed it where your gang (who is never really shown doing anything bad) tears apart an EXISTING crime syndicate. They should have had the gang shit not involved Templars, but instead involve UNITING the gangs of London (who could have different personalities and styles) to go after the London police, who are Templars.

But that would have required effort, instead of being another yearly cash-grab.

I'm sure Squeenix arbitrarily cutting out half of the planned game late in development and attaching it to one of the worst pre-order schemes ever attempted had nothing to do with it's lackluster sales. I'd rather see Eidos Montreal allowed a real attempt to follow-up Human Revolution than handing the series over to the studio responsible for the blandest of the Tomb Raider reboot games.

Not a fan of the old Design...but the new one looks straight out of a cartoon for 5 year olds & has no breasts.

Looks like one of those crappy Canadian shows!

What gets me is that even if you HAD to use the general design on the right because it NEEDS to be kid friendly, it's not hard to make it look passable if you use the original colors DQ has:
