They might just be losing more players. Recently there was a hack that affected the game and the servers, containing some malware. An RCE which is some pretty fucking awful malware. It caused the servers to brick and people unable to login. There happened to be a patch ready which fucked mobile and Mac versions of the game too.

Their statement about it is the piss. They neglect to mention their server security is ass and they got but fucked by fucking malware.

For whatever reason they released a second statement two hours later which is essentially the same statement but with the added listed compensation.

I'd like to point out that this is the second hack of the game with the first instance essentially being a warning to show how easy it was to fuck their security.

Shame, Warframe needs competition.
 
The devs have issued a second, much more in-depth response which in my opinion should have been their first response.

It still hasn't quelled the outrage becuase 1, it's the second time they were hacked and 2, the compensation is the piss.

A premium ten pull on the skin gacha - which will expire after a week.

Think about that for a second: a game just had a massive security breach which could install malware on people's devices and the devs give compensation that expire after a week if you don't log into said game. This is after countless people have uninstalled and vowed to never touch the game.

Jokes aside, the coping on the sub is strong but it's being drowned out by the sheer outrage still. It's a scary situation but I'm sorry, it's so fucking funny
