What is up with his beard? it looks like he tried to shave it without using a guard and fucked up.

You are being very optimistic about him fixing anything. He's just going to leave it because he's in complete denial of how ugly he is. Remember that he thinks he doesn't look like a fat balding old man.

Phil could have only a few patches of hair left on his oddly shaped head and he wouldn't shave it off.

What baffles me is that he had that "shaving accident" one day where he just lopped off the left side of the goatee on his lower lip, and then it just... stayed that way forever? Never grew back?
I wonder if he actually does it on purpose for some bizarre reason. Maybe he thinks it counters the lopsidedness/strokeface somehow?

While it's wasn't noticeable a year or two ago as much, as his goatee/beard wasn't thinning out the way it seems to be now, I looked at some old pics and it almost looks like his goatee was somewhat thinner at that spot even back then. In other words... crazy as it sounds, I suspect his goatee area is thinning/losing hair unevenly, and that's what we're seeing.

It used to be way worse, the stylist he has now is way more competent than whoever was helping him hide his baldness some years ago when Rambo and Howard still hung out with him. In fact, I'm pretty sure back then, it was Phil himself styling his hair, since it looked so shit. Nowadays, the only problem is that he just doesn't have enough hair for it to work. But if you think it looked long there, back in 2016 or so, it would've covered his whole ugly fucking face after doing that.
