On a lighter note, I really dig the warfarer class, there are quite a lot of creative things you can do with it and even with a barebones setup you can do things like slap a mage staff on to dish out heals, freeing up a party slot for another big damage dealing pawn.
It's just retarded how they made rearmament take up a slot while also not giving specific weapon types it's own slots.

At this point just equip weapons in the menu midfight. Or better yet, steal your main pawn's weapon.

Should have done it like in .hack's equivalent. Where you can just assign a weapon skill from one of the other classes and you'll automatically switch. More versatile and not an outright nerf.

it's a one step forward, one step back kind of deal where they're fixing some mistakes from the first game while making new ones/exacerbating old ones, I guarantee this will be exactly the same down to an expansion getting released that's 10x better than the main quest.

I'm almost positive this is basically what Itsuno wanted DD1/Dark Arisen to be like, in terms of presentation/exploration/story elements, but with random changes seemingly for the sake of it 95% of the time with almost zero logical explanation or reason. Which is why it's such a fucking give and take, just like the first game.
I wouldn't be surprised if this game has more than one dlc, or ends up having pretty huge updates and patches to try and fix and even add shit.

Also think Warfarer would be better suited as a pawn vocation

I love Adept Rogue system in .hack.
You got 4 points to pick which classes to use.
I wish the rearmament skill is a core skill instead of active one.

And yet, their quality of life is would be at least at a level to allow for consooming. You don't hear about consoomers in even worse shithole countries like Eritrea, Haiti, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Venezuela, I think.
That's the sad part, I've seen people consoom themselves into debt, along with simps makings themselves broke and destitute for an e-girl who doesn't know they even exists. The majority of people fuck themselves into debt rather than are fucked into debt. The people in those places are more the latter, they don't have the time or ability to consoom, at least on the level of first world countries. Otherwise they'll be in a far worse place than we'll ever be.
I'm the kind of retard that likes playing warrior
You're never a retard for playing a mundane in a magic world, as someone who loves magic and related classes, human fighter is the most based you can be.

Warfarer and Trickster both would make for good Pawn vocations, that's the one thing I wish they had done across the board. Give pawns access to all vocations.

Finished my playthrough though, I have no life so I clocked in at around 70-ish hours, swept the map multiple times looking for all the caves and levelling all the vocations. Post game didn't take me long at all I was so overleveled. Had so many wyrmcrystals and upgrade mats was able to just stick to the side quests and evacuation quests. It's no Everfall for sure but I still enjoyed that stuff quite a bit, the dragon bosses and remixed spawns were a nice difficulty boost. The ending cutscene is whatever, the last shot definitely sets up some things within the world for expansions if they go that route, they probably will. Final boss was total dogshit movie game crap though, wasn't a fan of that.

All in all I enjoyed it a lot, definitely won't touch it again till whatever expansion they do comes out but I was definitely expecting a straight upgrade from 1, not a mirror world repeat of it.

I'm sure enjoying this game a lot more than you bunch of a chumps. Christ Almighty. The wailing and gnashing of teeth here is a bit much.

not been posting much since i have been to busy playing the game. 70 hours in and i still not entered the end game content. just too busy exploring shit, collecting seeker tokens and achievement hunting. noting can hurt me at this point. even drakes die in a matter of seconds as soon as i look at them.

It's cool that people are already working on stuff that aren't just nipple mods.

I was legit trying to do something like this but I tripped SOMETHING and it fucked up my shit hard.
Also the mod's under review.

Also drakes drop wakestones, so I'm just finding somewhere to either spawn it reliably or just use that one oracle that knows where it spawns somehow.
Anyways I never die so.

I think either slimes or spirits drop rift crystalls as well, but it's not ur-dragon spam for either of these items. Which sucks.

Out of the maxed out vocations I have, Spearman is the most boring one I've played. Great fashion(still my biggest complaint please separate all the gear pieces again fuckin hell) and I like the movement and moveset, but it's gameplay just doesn't click. Doesn't feel particularly powerful outside of its Lazer Beam and shadow clone spam. It's a gimmick like Old Ranger was in 1, except now you can Za Warudo shit for free damage. As long as you've got enough stamina you win, and thats boring.

Pure archer and Thief are the most fun ones I've done. Glass canon DPS machines with a lot of maneuverability. Get advantage on attacks when attack unsuspecting enemies and also hitting their vitals AND hitting them from behind? You could snipe most shit out of existence with Archer or shred them in seconds with Thief. Plus you can still bomb arrow spam, and they're way the fuck stronger than Blast arrows were in 1 since you can 10 fold spam them.

Fighter isn't as fun as 1 and feels like it's trying to force you to go all in on either defense or offense. You're either the vanguard or a tank that occasionally hits things. Doing both gimps you pretty hard on option imo. Also, blink strike and hindsight don't work as well as movement options, and you can't cancel hindsight into a black and use it as a dodge anymore. And I miss my little fallback slash move from 1 as well, since you could dance around enemies and dish out some pretty respectful dps with it. Still enjoy fighter overall, but they made it much less fun.

Warrior will be my next class I start going through and I suspect it'll be fun. Unga Bunga is always fun.

Warriors fun and good for clearing trash mobs once you get the timing down on the basic attack chains but unless I missed it they got rid of exodus slash and arc of might is a master skill that drains all of your stamina. It makes it a lot more difficult to play and you're way more likely to get knocked around with no recovery roll anymore. They also got rid of the jumping light attack which means no way of dealing with harpies without skills. Hopefully warfarer fixes some of that with a second weapon once I unlock it.

I've said this already, but spearman's magic shield is busted as shit. Getting a brief 10 seconds of invulnerability at the cost of a measly amount of stamina has allowed me to shitroll drakes with ease. Though I do love not getting knocked on my ass every time I go to pick up one of my pawns.

i was levelling my magic for the most part so i played Mages, Sorcerer and Magik Archer. all three are good classes but i have to pick magik archer as my favourite for how busted normal magic arrows are and can quickly get rid of normal enemies. started playing as Wayfarer and boy, shits insane with high magic. all i do against bosses is plant Agural Flare on a boss, switch to daggers and do Skull Splitter on the bomb (since the more damage you do to it, the harder the explosive will be. and skull splitter always max it out) outright DELETES the bosses. i also put out High Thundermine so enemies cant get close to me since it has a huge knockback effect. i also switch to Magik Bow to clear out smaller enemies.

Really cute (and sad) detail in the postgame:

Weaker monsters huddle together in caves to escape the end of the world. Found a pack of wolves and choppers actually snuggled up together in one cave. The choppers are even fully idle instead of in ambush mode.
