I just finished DQ7 last year on the 3ds and really want to play the new one to see how it improves or doesn't improve on it. I can't do the original PS1 due to the grinding.

You don't have to grind, just be smart with your skills/spells and accept dying at a boss occasionally.I just finished DQ7 last year on the 3ds and really want to play the new one to see how it improves or doesn't improve on it. I can't do the original PS1 due to the grinding.
Every now and then Tom comes out and says the translations are still planned and they're awaiting hacking from some guy. I don't think their project will ever finish but maybe someone else will do it.Do you think DQ Monsters 1+2 for the PSX will ever be translated? I've been waiting on it for 20 something years. It showed some signs of life on the Woodus forum but it's back to silence. Also, do you guys know what changes were made in it compared to the GBC games besides graphics? I tried the 3DS remakes and they were puke-tier.
You don't like having your little sister call you "bruv?" On an unrelated topic, I remember finding a post on some forum from the guy who translated it saying that he wanted to become a localizer.Do you think DQ Monsters 1+2 for the PSX will ever be translated? I could never get into Tact (I don't like touchscreen gameplay), but I supported it until it ended. DQ of the Stars is the one that really hurt. That and FFRK. I never really whaled in either. Brave Frontier and Puzzle and Dragons got my money back in the day, which was unfortunate, but a nice lesson.I wanted to try the DQ7 remake, but I guess it was too graphically intense to remake a ps1 for the ps4 so fuck me I guess. I'm still kind of bitter with DQ/Square anyways over them ending the mobile game, Dragon Quest Tact, a couple years ago out of nowhere. I only spent a little money, including right before the EOS announcement because they were about to have the 3rd anniversary event, but it was an addicting game and really made me want to see them release a full strategy/tactics RPG with DQ monsters. With how long they are taking to make 12 though I'm not going to hold my breath.
Im shocked they haven’t done a tactical game with DQ. I wonder what genres they didn’t try to make games for yet.I wanted to try the DQ7 remake, but I guess it was too graphically intense to remake a ps1 for the ps4 so fuck me I guess. They had the Fire Emblem / Advance Wars developers make Dragon Quest Wars for DSiWare. Personally I don't think this game was very good.Im shocked they haven’t done a tactical game with DQ. I wonder what genres they didn’t try to make games for yet.
LOL, I've been playing DWM 1 and 2 for nearly my whole life. When I first saw the PSX version I wrote a letter to Enix in Japan asking them to please bring it to America. It's my white whale of a game. I could have learned the moonrunes to play it, realistically, 4 or 5 times with how long I've waited. I could suffer through a machine translation with the RetroArch overlay thingy. But something has always told me to just wait and be patient. I'm probably delusional. I just want an old Monsters-style game. Caravan Hearts was weird, Joker 1 was okay but so tiny and limited, the other Jokers ruined it with monster sizes, and the recent Switch one is Disneyfied mobile game stuff.Every now and then Tom comes out and says the translations are still planned and they're awaiting hacking from some guy. Play the GBC versions, they're good. Changes in the PS1 remake are minimal other than it looking nicer.
I used to pray to an Empyrea shrine for the West to get all those untranslated DQs like VII/VIII 3DS, X, Joker 3, IV PSX, Tornekos, etc. Well the joke's on me! That damned bird has a cruel sense of humor. You don't like having your little sister call you "bruv?" Did you have Dragon Warrior VII back in the day? The manual has a "coming 2002" teaser for Dragon Warrior IV PS1. That's been my white whale. I thought the DS version would be it but it hasLOL, I've been playing DWM 1 and 2 for nearly my whole life. I didn't hate the size mechanic but I didn't love it.LOL, I've been playing DWM 1 and 2 for nearly my whole life. I haven't found time for them yet but there have been leaps and strides in Tales game translation and I'm faithful that someone, some day, will figure out IV and Monsters 1+2 for PSX.Did you have Dragon Warrior VII back in the day? I've still played the DS ver may times but I would love for someone to translate that remake properly as per 2001 Dragon Warrior conventions. I've played through the first couple chapters in Japanese, I know what happens since I've played it enough, I can parse what's said in Japanese if I take my time, but it's not really the same.
- to date the most fucked up translation I've seen in a video game
- it replaces all the crosses with the gay demon trident and references to god with goddess
I don't like sizes because I want 3 big boy monsters (BossTroll, GreatDrak, Gigantes combo ftw). Maybe there's a way around that in the games and I never figured it out? Yeah the key system was so cool. With a little more effort and variation, you could have nearly infinite mini-adventures. I know people nowadays are jaded by procedural generation but it was implemented well in Monsters 2. I used to write short stories about key worlds and their history, all their heroes and legends and various monsters tamers from other worlds coming and going.I didn't hate the size mechanic but I didn't love it.
My favorite remains the original DQM2. Love the key system. Sadly the PSX is a huge pain in the ass to romhack otherwise the guys who did DQ5 SNES et all (who are still active) would have done DQM1+2 a long time ago.
It had some issues of its own. The people in not-Japan all speaking in haiku and all of the mermaids rhyming. On the whole, though, it was a lot better. Its been a lot of years since I played 11 but I don't remember it being so bad with the written in accents as 7R
You can’t just say this shit and not give examples. Is it worse than DQIV DS?7Rs script is so bad its unreal, its unbelievable that someone looked at it and said "Yeah this looks good". Its been a lot of years since I played 11 but I don't remember it being so bad with the written in accents as 7R. I thought the island where people were German was bad, but I just made it to one where they're French and I can't believe what I'm reading.
I have no clue about the DS games but I heard they were awful for it. These are from just wondering around the town. There was a scene when you enter the town or a building that some forced dialogue happens and it was worse than all this. You can’t just say this shit and not give examples. Is it worse than DQIV DS?
