Utter lunacy.
As for the gender options being changed to "types"—that's not exactly "new" in Japan, either.
I love how their go-to argument is always something like "this isn't the first time something shitty that you're complaining about happened, so it's okay". That's exactly why we're getting so fed up with it, fucking libtard faggots.

puritan can literally refer to actions you're being puritanical so I can fully refer to leftists and the puritanical attitude towards certain things in beauty
I suppose. I just call them Satanic.

"You didn't complain about it 12 years ago!"

Yes we did you contemptable midwit fuckwits. In response you called us Nazis and Fascists and the alt-right and and GamerGaters obsessed with "freeze peach" and incels and pedophiles. You told people that merely listening to us could harm their immortal souls so no matter what, they must not do so, and if they followed us or were found to be associating with us you would shun them and cancel them for it. Then you blocked us and had your buddies at 4chan, reddit, tumblr and twitter deplatform us wherever we tried to speak out.

Now that you can't do that to us on X, it's time for plan B: The Appeal to Triviality.

"It's a small change that I enjoy and matches my social and political ideologies so please accept this small change and we'll ban you for life from every mod site my tribe controls if you try and undo it but it's a small change and you're being stupid and unreasonable if you're complaining about such a small change so can't you just let this small change stick just like every other small change we've ever done in the past 40 years to your culture and hobbies and fandoms and interests and religion and school textbooks and country because it's a small change and if you don't stop objecting to it you really won't like the next few dozen small changes we have planned for you and no you won't be allowed to complain about those small changes either and besides you lack media literacy to understand this small change is really just the original author's intent even though he's on record stating he hated my kind and my ideology and some of the authors are literally alive and they too disagree with these small changes but we don't talk about that and we don't let him talk about that anymore either besides that this small change is fine and if you don't like it you're a bigot and a fascist and a nazi and a transphobe and a bad person and small changes like this are literally required to prevent these stunning and brave totally not mentally ill men in dresses from killing themselves so if you object to this small change you're literally murdering innocent children in the street!"

I'm late on this but
  1. wrong game, it was new horizons and
  2. only in English, not just in "the west" literally only English

IDK how anyone can in good faith argue that this isn't a "new thing"

That's simple. They're either falling for the cultural engineering, or they like the change and would like you to stop complaining about it.

The cultural engineering tactic is pretty blatantly to try and get people to ignore this stuff or minimize any objections or pushback until it's normalized in our society.

I could go into a long rant about it -- about John Money and his forcing two brothers to rape each other in front of him until they killed themselves and how that "proves" gender is real, how everyone now believes in gender in the west cause that's where the normalization is, how "Type A Bodies" is them backdooring the idea of "Feminine Penises" onto the culture after getting laughed off the stage about 7 years ago when they tried, etc etc. But the long and the short of it is, they desperately, desperately want you to not pay attention to them, to flinch away at looking too closely at these beliefs or god forbid questioning them by fear of being called a bigot, etc etc, until they've normalized their ideas in western culture. And then you won't be allowed to question them.

Worst of all are the ambivalent sheep tolerating it ("it's not so bad"). They're worse than the activists pushing this shit, enablers.

This is DoA on Steam. Tendies and snoys might lap this up but I'd be surprised if this gets more than 2k copies sold on Steam.
I wish the average joes viewed Denuvo like they viewed microtransactions.

Yeah, but by then people will have lost interest. No one wants to pay 60 dollars for a straight downgrade (graphics aside) when the original is free to emulate on multiple consoles.
There really is no perfect version of Dragon Quest III. Dragon Quest III GBC has the most content and it looks amazing for GBC (which I have nostalgia for), but it is still inferior to III SFC. III SFC by the way is superior to any modern port because it includes the Pachisi boards and fully animated sprites, however it is missing further additions the GBC version had.

III is disappointing, but now I am more scared about the eventually IX remake because that actually needs a remake badly because it only has one version, being a dated DS version with most of the content that made it so expansive being locked behind doing gymnastics through hotspot connections.

It took so many years for SE to build back up Dragon Quest in the west, actually do proper PR for it and give us these games, and they decide to fuck it up here. At least this time it's our fault and not SE setting unrealistic expectations

I anticipate this doing just fine. The censorship and wokeshit is minor enough that while people are upset, it's still in the "who cares" range. Pronouns are definitely in the normalization range for current day, and "Type A" is pretty close too thanks to games like Monster Hunter or Elden Ring already doing it.

The issue is even the creators hate it so it's become clear they're being strongarmed into doing it by Square Enix and nonexistent Western standards they've been psyoped into thinking is actually a liked thing in the West. I still might buy it, but not for a long time.

I hope this bullshit actually does cause the game to underperform in the West, show it isn't popular and it is something some SE trannies told Armor Project to do. Sadly SE is ran by troglodytes and them seeing the DQIII Remake underperform might just convince them Dragon Quest isn't popular in the West and they stop releasing games again for the next 5 years, but rather that then this current year nonsense.

Horrifying but true, this is the effect of the Overton window shifting so far that only something as egregious as Concord can fail for being too woke.

If it underperforms it'll be more likely that it's for other reasons, like price.

My Game Boy Color version doesn't have denuvo nor censorship.
I think people were just hoping for a definitive version. Even the best remakes aren't definitive anymore, like Super Mario RPG, which is still fun and good, but just a different way to experience a classic.

I still might buy it

If someone who says tranny in online forums might even buy it despite complaints then the average person is probably going to not even know about the controversy or care if they did, so it probably won't factor much into it underperforming.

I don't know if there's a physical version but buy used at least if that's an option.

Remakes are not "definitive" ever.

I would sit here and argue Resident Evil for GameCube is the greatest remake of all time. And yet you should still go play the PS1 version if you like RE. They're both cool.

It's only when you get into porting the same game 18 times that you can talk about Definitiveness. And even then 98% the original release is better.

For Dragon Quest 3 I highly recommend the NES, Super Famicom, and GBC versions. They're all cool.

I think there's definitely times when a remake is definitive, especially when the original is extremely archaic, like the Game & Watch series. Nostalgia would be the only reason to go back sometimes, and while there's nothing wrong with that (there's times I prefer originals for that reason, like Pokemon Red vs Fire Red) not everyone will have that nostalgia.

Fire Emblem 1's remake is way better than the original, I can't really see an argument for the NES version over its DS remake. If I had to play devil's advocate there's something to be said about subjectivity in art, maybe someone just really likes the 8-bit aesthetic...

With Resident Evil I feel like there's a fair argument for the original, even though the remake is better. There's numerous differences which add up to make them significantly different experiences (as far as remakes go), stuff like different voice acting and lack of FMVs. There's a campier tone to the original which makes it distinct.

i’m surprised you didn’t bring up the SNES remake, a game that includes both the first game and a brand new continuation.
