No tranny will ever make it to "retirement" age, and no retirement home's residents will suffer a tranny roommate to live (for long) anyway.
There are stories about how post-op trannies with dementia forgot they got surgeries, and wake up screaming asking where their boobs/dick is, or try using the urinal without a dick. And they do this every day.

Good. Suffer.

Now also round up their butcher surgeons and make them the primary caregiver of their victims at those homes.

I would sneak into their room and write "((they)) cut off your genitals, don't trust them" on the ceiling, so they'd see it every time they woke up in the morning, after naps, etc.

The fact that fanart of actual legit beautiful Qunari women exists out there for reference, yet they went with the most asinine hideous mary sue woke abomination that is Jojo Siwa --I mean Taash.......

Environments were dreadful too. I said it before but when you actually miss the Hinterlands, Western Approach, and the Emprise de Leon.......that's how bad things are currently.

Also there is no alternative to how Mass Effect utilizes exploration in that you'd expect them to learn from Outlaws how flying your ship around could work. As for DA they could do it with flying on dragons but whatever

The average Hugo nominee and winner these days have the same narrative caliber as that game, so it's not really surprising.
I've looked over a list of Hugos the past decade or so and it's literally a parade of "who the fuck even is this" and unless you follow lolcows on Xitter, you have no idea who any of these people are.

Good.

I kinda expect ME5 to be a Dead Space-style reboot.
This is the only viable option I can see, but given that the Dead Space remake underperformed I can't see EA agreeing to foot the bill.

I would like it to happen though, because ME1 had tons of issues people complained about at the time and I have every confidence modern Bioware would still manage to make a worse version with the remake.

Yeah, it's been a long time since I recognized anyone on those award lists. We've run out of Clarkes, Ellisons and Asimovs and they're not being replaced with anything even remotely in the same league.

Is there any doubt that BioWare deserved the blame? Ever since the expose on the mess that was Anthem, it's clear that the management of BioWare doesn't know its anus from its mouth. Only the most deluded stans like those on the Dragon Age subreddit would blame EA 100% when everything has come to light.

Because, you know, the suits forced these DEI tards at gunpoint to write, word by word, "I'm non-binary."

I don't know why these people find it so hard to accept that EVERYONE involved in the recent BioWare games are terrible and incompetent and use these IPs as their personal validation and adult therapy sessions. Gaider's track record outside of BioWare also proves that no matter how good he once was, he has long lost his mind to the woke virus and he will never go back to his former glory.

Off topic but:

I wonder if it's a Canadian thing. I also know of another Canadian, an author, that practically stops writing to be terminally online and rage-screech about Trump and fascists and capitalists bad and whatever... like Jesus Fucking Christ, woman, you're venting all your spleen on issues that are not happening in your own backyard. Go back to using that Trudeau-replica vibrator more often and get back to writing instead of screaming about how poor you are. How she expects to make money when she's not writing books to sell is beyond me.

It may be petty, but while reading these posts I immediately lost all sympathy for Gaider when he acquiesced to a middle aged shlub's insistence on being referred to as "Trick."

People just like being weird corporate sycophants?

Trump Derangement Syndrome can manifest in just about any nationality or location on the globe.

Nerds(especially gay ones) tend to be extremely accommodating, often to their own self abasement. It’s why trannies have taken over-nerds tend to be curious, and relatively open minded people. If someone starts lambasting them for their unchecked White privilege or demanding to be affirmed-they tend to fold.

Gaider strikes me as a gentle nerdy (and gay) guy that meshes with the social environment he’s in. I’m not saying it’s a good thing, but it’s a common aspect of these people’s psychology.

To be fair to Gaider-he left in 2016 so he can't be blamed for DAV.

management didn't know how to use the DA IP, etc...
I mean, obviously. Dragon Age has to be one of the most schizophrenic video game series I have ever seen. They obviously did not really expect to make a sequel to Origins, and it shows.

Well, II tries to expand some problematics introduced in Origins. And the protagonist isn't a destiny-driven one (well, HoF had Duncan saving him).
Like i said before, the trilogy was planned since the first game. God knows what happened with the execution of those plans in the sequels.
Veilguard is just a excuse to revive a dead franchise, and that killed it.

i don't believe for a second a trilogy was planned from the start, it was definitely meant to just be a one off game that ended up taking off and people wanted more

They left themselves lots of interesting hooks to explore if the game was a hit, and they had notes for an overarching story (supposedly the elven gods being the eventual uber-villains was baked into the setting from the start), but yeah, this was not a planned trilogy a la Mass Effect.

Good.

Look who they give Nobel's to. It's all undermined by people with extreme politics. Awards are now for the best sheep. I think Obama won a Nobel Peace prize then murdered Americans with Drones and greatly expanded the drone programs and set up 2 different standards of ROE, one being totally classified under expanded Patriot Act rules.

How many of you have actually played this? I never even completed the previous one it got super boring. Like most games. I think I've completed like 1/10 games I've owned.

The ending of the base game of DAO is pretty self-contained, but the world opens plenty of questions to be explored in sequels and DLC. They probably did it so they could drop the whole thing if it didn't sell well, and continue it otherwise.
I think then you get the Awakening DLC which is basically the trespasser of DAI and sets up for a continuation. Unfortunately we live in the evil timeline and they abandoned the awakening plotline for the DA2->mages->elves->trannies continuum.

BTW people saying the story from DAO couldn't be continued because your character died are forgetting (or never played) the DLCs, which had the same issue and solved it by either letting you continue as the HoF as the now designated warden commander of Ferelden, or as the foreign warden sent in to take the role in the case you died. They could, and should, have just done more with the Awakening and Amgarrack stories, imo.

The odd thing is there is an underlying cosmology, and some vague hints in Origins that line up relatively well with DAV. But you are right, there was no sequel planned. Gaider likely established the world's basic cosmology and some sort of story bible, (perhaps after the game came out, its not clear?), but yes there is no actual goal.

Gaider said someone described it as "the mass effect team was a well run ship with a destination it was moving too and the DA team was a pirate ship going from port to port with only a vague idea of its heading".

You see this in everything from "the champion changed the world"-clearly intending Hawke to be a more important character than he ended up being, to things like having characters like Leliana be potentially killed in Origins only to have critical roles later in the story.

That isn't even including the stylistic and artistic changes, the Qunari change in appearance in every game, darkspawn look different in Origins than how they do in DA2-DAI, Inquisition's relatively realistic style to DAV's exaggerated Fortnite designs, etc...

Its ultimately remarkable the series is as coherent as it ended up being.

People have been trained/brainwashed into thinking it's never the developer's fault, only the publisher. EA sucks dick and is garbage but in Bioware's case they've given them waaaaay more leeway than they've deserved.
