Knudsen has been a non-anthromorphised owl vtuber on twitch for like a year or two before the Astralane annoucement. If I remember correctly, I think I've heard Knudsen's vtuber activities from Pippa's Merryweather interview but I'm not sure and I don't really want to watch the whole thing again. Haven't followed his twitch that much as I barely visit that website but I have seen glimpses of his vtuber-style content. From what I can remember, his chat was full to the brim of tumblrite types with pronouns on their twitch bio. He talks like the average run-of-the-mill EN fujobait with the likes of Vox Akuma from Nijisanji and it just creeps me out, totally different from his tea time streams on youtube back in 2020. And yes, they're of significantly lower quality compared to Quarantea.

I agree. He’s becoming my favorite potential cow because I used to be somewhat of a fan until this vtuber shit. The last stream with Mike is what made me start to change my mind on him tbh. It was low effort, low T except for Mike technology boomering, and rambled on FOREVER on that gay Indian cult shit that wasn’t even funny.
The problem with the Spoony Movie is that, as Noah admitted, it was never meant to be a Spoony movie, it was meant to just be a movie but he worded it poorly and knew that if he did anything else, people would be pissed. So he had to come up with something even though he had no interest in doing it. And Noah is the ultimate contrarian, it was part of his appeal but also what caused him to go on long hiatuses because he only likes to work on his own things when he wants to unless someone else is doing the heavy lifting.

In fairness, I don't think Spoony ever seriously intended to make a movie. He more than likely just included it as a Patreon perk thinking it would never be reached. It ties into something that LordKat said in his infamous rant against him: Spoony always talks about these dreams and things he wants to do but he never does any of them because they require work and sacrifice that he would get too overwhelmed at doing. They are just pipe dreams he has that he thinks maybe one day will magically just happen for him.

Failing that, then okay, use sci fi footage from public domain shit like Flash Gordon serials or use obscure B movie shit like Battle Beyond the Stars (produced by Roger Corman) and slap a filter on it. That's all you need to do if you want to illustrate a sci-fi battle but cannot use game footage for whatever reason. My guess is that Fred's doing this out of a favor for the animator but he's tanking his channel by doing this favor.
