Too late. Been playing Doom64EX for a while now. Don't trust those hacks to actually get the port right.
My only concern is the focus on story - gives me feelings there's going to be cutscenes all over which would go against the flow.
Still, they've earned the benefit of the doubt.

Well John can only write code so of course he'd hate storylines."Story in a game is like story in a porno." John Fucking Carmack.
I just want a level set on Earth. That's all I want and I'm happy. I just want to see demons and maybe a giant Spider Mastermind terrorizing suburbia (an image from the Doom novels if anyone remembers those).
Yup, Mick Gordon's confirmed he's coming back and that he's going to iterate on the techniques he used for 2016.Is it the same guy doing the music? I fucking LOVE both tracks in the story trailers.
I don't know if I like Bethesda treating Doom as their golden goose; look at what happened to Elder Scrolls, for cripes sake. Those console ports of Doom and Doom II received patches that massively improve them.

In short, the patch buffed the game up from 35 fps to 60 fps, corrected that irritating SFX pitch shift thing, fixed the aspect ratio, changed the weapon switching to resemble Night Dive's releases of Blood and Turok, and allows access to WADS such as Final Doom, No Rest for the Living, and Sigil. Having played it before and after the patch, it's insane how much better it is. It plays closer to a modern source port than the initial release did.
It's like Doom is the only property Bethesda cares about at this point.
You ask me it's like Bethesda realized how badly they fucked up 2019 between Wolfenstein and Fallout, and right now Doom's about the only thing they haven't completely soiled yet. What better way to butter up the fans than by actually improving the console ports of the originals?I don't know if I like Bethesda treating Doom as their golden goose; look at what happened to Elder Scrolls, for cripes sake.
I mean, that ain't gonna stop ID Software from making the best game in 2020 IMO (FIGHT ME, CYBERPUNK FAGS), but that's just my paranoia speaking it's mind.
