View attachment 9246771I managed to beat (read: beat, not complete) the DLC. It's OK. I think that, like the DLC for Eternal, it'll be something that I like the more I return to it. I'll reserve my final score as I haven't truly explored everything there is to explore.
The big gimmick for the DLC besides the Spear is exploration, and by exploration I mean: imagine if TT made a DOOM Lego game, that's basically how it's structured. You've got a hub, and several areas that you can't return to until "End Game" (read: Free Play) Story is a bit of a wet fart to be honest, and also introduces some retcons (?) namely around the Praetor suit. It also gives us some backstory for this version of Doom guy, who is canonically named Flynn Taggart. I didn't really care that instead of showing us the cause of why this version of the slayer hates the demons so much it instead gives us why this version of doom guy assaulted his commanding officer.
It's not what I would call the sendoff Nu-doom deserved, but lets be honest this was pretty clearly not meant to that anyways. That said, I think it was fitting to step into the suit we started this with one more time.
