What I really appreciate about this thread is how illuminating it has been about professional gaming. Like, I never would have guessed that someone could be so good at Street Kombat Caliber Z that people would blow him out of sheer admiration. It's like whoring yourself out to a Jenga expert.

Also, apparently being good at video games makes you more conceited than actually being good at something cool. This is a recurring phenomenon, it seems.

I don't say this to friends, granted I never had this happen to me, but I sure as hell wouldn't say it on a private internet account. I'm not sure if I should chalk this up to gays or furries -- or just social media being a cancer in general.

That's some nice content.

And with the all the genuine discussion of fighting games totally unfamiliar to me, this threads's pretty entertaining.

At the tournament, there were small "player interviews" playing before they started playing their rounds.
Sonicfox, naturally, was in full fetish gear. When asked about one secret that no one knows about him, he replies with "Im really, really gay."

Audience reaction was great to say the least lol. Mix of people cheering and groaning. I'll see if i can find it.

edit: Found it, heres the timestamp

He's beyond a meme now with how open he is with his sexuality. Who would have thought that being a young furry who's claim to fame is being the best at a vidya none of the Japanese play makes you an incredibly shallow individual.

He's going to eventually go into some kind of irl autistic meltdown in an attempt to deal with those gosh darn dirty trolls and embarrass himself further in the FGC. I get the distinct impression that the OGs of the FGC are none too happy with him and his homosexual antic.

He has a history of playing games no one cares about. I wouldn't say that none of the Japanese play FighterZ (i mean, you can look at EVO top placements and everyone in the Last Chance Qualifiers and Top 8 for the Redbull Summoning.) But the way he got famous is beating up some dude in MKX, the least popular fighting game at the time. He got into the scene by complete chance. Although, he probably would've got in either considering how good he was at the game. Even the commentators mention it a fair bit, and its completely true. FighterZ is his first "relevant" fighting game where he placed well.

Im gonna have to agree with him having an autistic meltdown, can't wait to see it happen and all the gay furries that'll defend him. I forgot to add, but in the tournament i pulled the clip from he brought a drawing of his furry OC to the setup, put it on the little desk there and forgot to pick it back up when he was sent home by Dogura. The next player looked at it, seemingly questioning his life choices.

I was referring to MKX. I don't ever recall a Japanese player touching that game. He got put on the map for beating Perfect Legend 13-0 in a first to 10. Still is one of the best examples of someone with an ego getting absolutely btfo.

Ah, my bad then. Just got back from work and my brain is scrambled.

Since this guy ditched the silly hat for a furry suit, did he trade the hat for blowjobs? Better capitalize on that while he can.

"Sonic Fox? More like Suck My Cock, I can quarter-circle back up my credentials as a professional button presser akin to Homer Simpson at the Nuclear Power Plant. I bet you're soaking yourself right now, huh? Well are you ready for the dramatic finish?
I'M GAY
"

Why doesn't he just wear normal clothes and not a suit? I mean the hat was dumb and all but at least you can see his stupid face.

The hat was even part of the "lore" in the FGC. If he took it off, he "got serious". Was a fun thing in tournaments to watch out for. Of course, being the attention whore that he is, he had to kill that idea by going for the full fursuit and constant "I'm gay" posts. I don't think Ricki Ortiz, a well known tranny in the FGC is anywhere near as irritating as him.

Some of the comments on the youtube clips of his recent loss are absolute gold.

Dumb question - he seems to be one of the only people I see in the fighting game scene using a controller over an arcade stick. Does it actually make a tangible difference and he is using the worst of the two or is that just something game companies tell normies so they spend $$$ on expensive sticks to be like the pros?

I autistically follow Starcraft II/Brood War pro gaming and for the longest time the top pros would all use the same shitty logitec mouse because it was cheap, comfortable and did the job so in that scene the 'pro gamer gear' stuff is just cash grab bullshit.

The differences between controllers and arcade sticks is more that the arcade stick is more setup for the fighting games in general layout and design, so their more complex to use over a controller where things are consider more constraint and simple to press.

Most players that use arcade sticks are just players that are more of the technical type, they just like a more complex way to play because that's how they are and arcade sticks kinda widen that horizon, even more so to pull fakeout fireballs, something controllers don't have a dedicated button for.
