The thread description used to be "I'm gay", which explains where the outrage is actually coming from. It was changed to "Guro fetishist" in order to seem more legitimate, but the contributors make their motivations pretty transparent.

Some of the more active users in here would make better material.

Why not change his thread subtitle to "obnoxious furry eceleb"? So many loud gays yet Kiwifarms aren't setting up catalogues of them, meanwhile this guy is a video game celeb who chooses to use his fame to be loud and obnoxious, ain't that what really pissed off people?

To be fair, I doubt majority of people knew who we was or even existed until they put him on the basic cable awards show.

The main reason nobody cared before is because nobody gave shit about him. All they knew was that he was some furry who was in esports. The only people that would have followed him before his speech were the people finding themselves within the small crossover between furries and esports, and before SonicFox rose to the top, I have my doubts that anyone who really knew about him had a substantial voice outside of the furry fandom.

I stopped receiving notifications for this a while back. I return and see people freaking over the most tame gore art I have ever laid eyes on. Fucking Chex Doom is gorier than this.

To go back on topic, FGC people didn't like him for the sole fact that he dressed in fursuits on top of being a really awkward guy. It wasn't until he got notoriety for playing DBFZ that he started getting more soapboxy. I'm sure that if that speech were not said this thread wouldn't have been made but I'm more surprised it wasn't made earlier considering stuff like this in this tweet:

I don't say this to friends, granted I never had this happen to me, but I sure as hell wouldn't say it on a private internet account. I'm not sure if I should chalk this up to gays or furries -- or just social media being a cancer in general.
