Nothing is going to change. Further tests would be needed to confirm any of these diagnoses, and it's highly unlikely Amber is going to go back for a sleep study, fasted labs, etc. Also she has no insurance and a CPAP machine can cost a few grand. I'm betting the doctor told her what she suspects is wrong (sleep apnea, diabetes, whatever) and recommended she see appropriate specialists for better treatment.

It sounds like she thinks she's healthy, so it's all good guys. No need to follow up.

I have never heard of someone being diagnosed with apnea without a sleep study. Ok so now doc says she has apnea- did she get her an rx for a cpap? No. Because you have to go back for a second sleep study to get one calibrated to you and find a mask or nasal canulas that you can tolerate. Amber is a liar. Always. Lies.

Also, no worries about no circulation in her leg, it’s probably because of how she is sitting?! She’s going to lose that leg for real.

Last time AL went to that Doc she wanted her to do the office weightloss too and special amber was so touched how everyone in the office wanted to help. We saw how well that went. And her doc didn’t mention how much she has gained since last time? She didn’t go

oof, i didn't thought she has such a big problems with simple activities like standing and walking. thats really depressing. At some moment she'll be able only to lay down in bed and eat
Even if she hasn't diabeties or everything else, her weight might be a big problem if she'll have some kind of emergenсy (My obese relative was forsed to lose weight so doctors were able to operate her. Doctor was afraid that she wont survive operation with her fat)

Imagine doing everything with five 80-lb bags of concrete mix strapped to your body. Even one bag would wear you down very quickly. It’s a miracle she can even stand up.

It's so sad how she latches on to people after one meeting. This doctor really cares about her---she's not just another patient!! ! And the doctor wants her to join the office weight loss pool---because she really cares!! Like hello Amberlynn, we know you were abused as a child but can you let go of this bizarre savior complex you have? A dietician, a therapist, a doctor: none of these people are going to be your parents and save you. These people are just like all her diet plans---she thinks this is the magic bullet for a couple days then discards them.
Just another thing she does to try and make herself feel special and her story unique.

"I don't walk any more. I have legs, but I don't use them"
What's the point of even having legs at all any more.

So, again, Becky & the fags have had to have been witnessing episodes of AL not breathing in her sleep and waking up gasping, choking, and sputtering at least this whole year, if not the entire time she's lived there, and not given a single fuck that she looks like she's dying.

Well thank god her health can wait until the new year, because our gorl has been planning her holiday eating schedule for MONTHS and she is NOT going to deprive herself from all of those delicious eats!

What a fucking Christmas miracle - several dire, obesity related diagnosies in one day. You’d think this would scare her but... it’s Christmas! :story:

So the singing doctor let her leave without a blood test, a referral to a sleep specialist, or a vascular specialist (who specializes in poor circulation), which usually starts with the heart. Instead she threw her some BP meds and said you're good to go? Nope, not buying it. And most Dr's now have the scales that go up to 700 elbees. But I also realize this is KY we're talking about.

I'm also not buying "come join our weight loss competition". Amber is looking at 600 pounds, not a 60 pound weight loss. And she better hurry and get that insurance. You must apply by January 15 to secure coverage for 2019 to get Obamacare.

Everything the doctor said were things that the "haydurs" have been telling her for years. She is such an idiot.

She is not going to join their little weight loss group. There is nowhere for her to sit!

I was surprised that she allowed Becky in the room knowing she had to bare her leg. Keep shedding those tears Becky. You're next.

For someone like Amber, she needs a strong support system to be successful. But in a house where everyone comes home with fast food take-out every day, that's borderline impossible. She'll regress at the first whiff of Eric's Mc.D's.

Someone had asked above whether the folks in that home intentionally don't care about Amber. I think what it is, is that they care...but not enough to have to give up their own qualities of life. It's a "Yeah, I love you gorl...but I'm not giving up my Mc.Donalds for your sake." type of behavior.

It's possible the doctor did want to do all those things, but it's not like they can force Amber to do them, she has no insurance and would have to pay for everything herself, I wouldn't be surprised if Amber declined all the tests or anything extra that wouldn't be covered by the basic fee she was paying to see the doctor. Doctors who see patients like Amber, know they aren't paying anything extra out, and they just need to do the basics and then send them on the way.

Edited for clarity.

there's a lot of argument about this in the world of nutrition. when people go on keto/low carb they tend to opt for animal fats rather than plant based fats, which do lead to insulin resistance. dr greger writes a lot about diabetes and insulin resistance at nutritionfacts.org and i personally believe his argument, but so many different people cite different causes for diabetes, it's all up in the air.

plant-based keto would probably be good - but that's pretty much just avocadoes, nuts, seeds and beans. all of this is a moot point to begin with because amber sure as FUCK won't stick to a low carb diet, never mind one that cuts out her precious tube meat!

I disagreed with your earlier comments as while I don't really do keto I see its benefits. I do completely agree with the issues with keto causing people to turn to animal fats more, which is very destructive. Plant-based keto is gaining traction and there are even several cookbooks now with awesome recipes. Not that our gorl would follow or succeed in most recipes that don't call for a shelf full of Mrs. Dash. Also her last attempt at veganism was short lived and relied solely on fruits and processed foods so I won't be holding my breath on that one.

Dr. Jason Fung has a lot to say about diabetes, and while he isn't vegan I agree with most of what he says. Reading and taking his book "The Obesity Code" seriously could save her life (not that I think she would bother to read a book of this nature). For a person in Amber's condition, I'm not sure what else would save her. If she went on keto without an actual plan and just did daily all you can eat meat feedings she'd probably drop. Perhaps on some level even she knows this. It doesn't discount low carb diets, just airs her inability to be reasonable with any style of eating.
