Does this trailer strike anybody else as too early? Even with the BG3 trailer I at least had an idea but this trailer feels like it can be mapped onto so many different stories like it's trying to drum up hype but also hedging in case something changes.
Honestly, I think so yeah. I L O V E divinity, do not get me wrong but with them stating it will be larger than BG3 was, and then the fact that BG3 took them 6 years, we probably will not even see this game until like 2030, at the minimum.

Sincerely don't know what they were hoping to do with the trailer. My hype just went to negative after watching it. If Larian thinks this is some sick marketing trick and there's no such thing as negative publicity, well, they gonna get a rude awakening.
buddy they literally showed off Bear Fucking in BG3 and it sold gangbusters.

The trailer was even more shocking in the context of the Game Awards. They had live performers on stage (and floating above it)

Remember Larian is bigger now, and they've been secretly busy for the last two years.
I think Early Access will be coming within the year or why would they go for such a high profile trailer.

The Bear scene was a livestream with a few dozen fans watching in person.
Very few people would have heard about it if it wasn't super shocking. Totally different from the Game Awards, they already had millions of eyeballs on them, tens of millions of fans who would welcome anything close to Baldur's Gate again.
Yet they showed graphic torture instead.

I know, my 2030 estimation took into account the post-launch time of BG3. We might see some gameplay in two or so years, but I do not think they can release the game so fast, unless they are reusing a LOT of assets from BG3. Which, is plausable granted.
But it's up in the air on if this game will be a Tactical RPG, or a classic RPG. They have a history of bouncing between genres, so i am not confident to 100% make assumptions.
Either way though that being said, I know a lot of people will be dissapointed in Divinity 3 regardless of what they choose, since they will be expecting BG3 2

Fuck those people.
DnD is full of nigger faggotry and anything not in that realm is a welcomed sight.

Except Dragon Commander, I played all Divinity games and I love the world and the lore, with Ego Draconis being a personal favourite.
Lizard fucking and orcs flicking their beans aside, the themes of that trailer are on point. The original games all had mature and dark tones.
That being said, I'm also cautious, as the Larian of old isn't the Larian of now, but I prefer to be a Positive Polly, until proven wrong.
It's not like there's any new title I look forward to anyway.

What's maddening is that after more than a decade of vidya getting wrecked by wokeshit and the entire industry cowtowing to them, dishonest bothsidesnigger cucks like you still shit out muh both sides because someone heckin complained on a birdwatching forum.
Cool story, Bro.

Larian were working on D3 before they got the contract for BG3 and continued to work on D3 with a separate team for about a year. Unless they've scrapped the original work, I can see another trailer dropping in a few months.

Yeah, alright that's fair enough. I feel like with the amount of time that passed they'd have to update a lot of assets or dev tools but it would expedite the process still so you could well be right!

Oh man, I'd love an RPG centered around a Slannashi style pleasure cult and all the horrors that are involved, but with the video game writers we have today I can't see them doing the subject any justice. Grimdark horror doesn't mix well with marvel style one liners.
Either way it's way to early to really say anything, he'll we don't even know if this will be a tactical party style rpg, or a more traditional one.

Well, this is one more Divinity game to get, especially since I have the rest of the series. Too early to pass judgement, but making Nicholas Cage jokes when the guy is on fire in the wicker man was entertaining.

Imagine getting moralistic over a Larian trailer out of all things, and over some obvious Golden Bough/Wickerman tribute, no less. Funny enough, this petty backlash is similar to when The Passion of Christ came out and everybody started crying about how violent it was. Get real.

Sven did an interview a while back where he praised the Dark Urge as the best part of BGS3 and said one of Larian's future projects would be a full on evil/villain RPG a la Tyranny.

If we are the ones in the trailer purging the degenerates this could be that game.

Call me when a character acts racist or kink-shame and maybe a let you wear the big boy pants.
this so much, being a gorefaggot isn't anything new but being a racist or a purist without any hint of hypocrisy? now that's the real shit worthy of a "Adult Game" card instead of corporate safe edgyness and gayness.
>Weapon of choice: Sword and Board
dual hammers is where the real pimps are at.

Ew what the fuck? That was gross!

Why couldn't they make a new IP instead of turning Divinity into whatever this nasty shit is.

I feel sick now but I'm interested in the story. Let's hope the writing is good.

I liked it, it is revulsing and gross. I realy realy want them to give us a grimderpy cRPG with plethora of opportunities to slaughter degenerates but that does not look like one of the strangely charming Larian's cRPG of yore. This looks like something inspired by Dark Souls 3/Elden ring, Berserk, Dragon Age and Diablo. I hardly see Rivellon in that, it does feels off.

About wokeness, I do not know man, those (very racialy diverse)religious freaks are litteraly punished by accidentaly releasing something straight out of the Void with their actions. It does not seem glorifying them or gaslighting us into being sympathetic to them.

But I would be a fool to hope anything else than wokeness and incompetency after BG3.

I would also like to report a crime.

Did you only play the Original Sin games?
Those games are kinda goofy, cartoony and light hearted, so it's understandable.
But if you'll ever try the older games, you'll take this statement back.

full on evil/villain RPG a la Tyranny.
You can pick how you play in that RPG. The only difference being that you start in the employment of the Big Bad and you can swing your dick around, as you have authority.
Idk, I wouldn't describe it as a full on evil RPG

And he's right.
Both resist and embrace are fucking great.
