Can't say I saw a problem with the trailer, really. Kind of on par with Divinity with how much of the games lore events are kicked off by dragonfucking, rape, genocide etc. I just see a pagan inspired festival burning some variation of a corrupted source user, which makes sense for the game. Since orcs are around again, and from what limit ingame imagery I have seen having very wide open maps I think we might end up with a game closer to Divinity II: Ego Draconis than an Original Sin game.

All I know is I saw the Lizards in the trailer, so them making a return means my favorite racists are back on the table.

I assume the trailer is supposed to be edgy and revolting to get people talking. However, you need a little more out of them. What is going to bring me in, what story is going to be told? Right now, you're not exactly starting out well. People should be excited, not repulsed. If it was a horror game, then the trailer would make more sense. Rather than the colorful mostly lighthearted interspersed with occasional 2000s edginess style adventures that Larian is used to making.

This is almost like a second trailer. The first announces and reintroduces the setting with quick glimpses and flashes to remind you of Divinity. It's been 8 years-ish since the last title after all. The second one introduces the stakes, the story and you go a little harder to build intrigue. This trailer just comes across as someone watched Midsommar and Wicker Man and was like "lets do that! But harder!"
