They are banned in the UK. In reality though they still exist, they might now be rechargeable and refillable the refills are the same price as an entirely new device with a filled pod, that's if you can even find a refill in stock anywhere. Still see them lying in the street now with added charging and pod replacement circuitry.

The next solution I see coming is a tax or minimum pricing on devices which i doubt will work either.
