Could Disney shift to a more apolitical stance? Sure. But given their modus-operandi, it's not something that happens overnight. The way it would start is to stop hiring marxists and slowly, over time, begin shedding the ones they already have in a way that looks just like a natural firing than it does for political reasons. A process like that takes years.
I think the shift away from wokeness towards a more apolitical stance could happen a bit sooner than usual once Iger is fully out of the picture and Chapek is forced to try and keep Disney afloat since they lost a fuckton of money this year thanks to COVID-19.
The loss of money can provide a convenient excuse to fire the SJW's since it can be passed off as cost-related layoffs and nobody will bat an eye. The issue is will Chapek and the execs at Disney be willing to take that kind of a step? I'd say a lot of it has to do with several things such as the outcome of the 2020 election, the pace of economic recovery, and whether or not Disney will have several major flops from 2021 onward.
IIRC,
@Kari Kamiya posted some screencaps of a thread that discussed the possibility that the situation at Disney is far worse than it looks to us not in the loop, and that a lot of the SJW's in the company are adamantly against trying to reduce spending, especially if it means keeping the woke agenda off the table (even as a temporary cost-cutting measure) and this was at least a month ago upthread, but given how insane 2020 is, I'd believe it a lot more than anything said by Doomcock.
The only way 2020 can get even crazier is if the last third of the year ends up with Clown World going full circle and we get insane and improbable events that are positive like the appeals in the Weeb Wars going way better than expected, Trump winning the 2020 election, GTA VI being finally announced, and Doomcock of all people accidentally being right about something.
I would not be surprised if we see Disney slowly and very quietly step away from the Woke Left all through the early 2020's depending on the remainder of 2020 and 2021 play out.
